"Race it, trick it, survive it." Sounds really interesting.

Blech, they're getting into EA Sports. Wake me up in 15 minutes.

It was like this last year too. Interesting stuff first, then EA Sports and The Sims, then more interesting stuff.

The trailer for The Sims: Social is the worst thing I have seen since We Dare.

Insomniac moving from PS3 to multiplatform. Betrayalton?

Edit:

Anybody watching the Ubisoft conference?

Nah, going to stay up tonight and watch nintendo though.

i already posted everything i was going to say here in the other thread...argh sorry guys!

Skyrim is probably what got me most excited, there is a 7 min gameplay demo which looks amazing...check it out...

Skyward is 14 hours away!!!
I was reflecting on how the lead up to Skyward Sword is different from Twilight Princess.  No one is sure of Skyward Sword because they don't know what to expect, very little has been shown, and what has been shown is rather unique.  Twilight Princess however immediatly demonstrated itself as the most "epic Zelda ever" etc. and as such everyone placed their own hopes and dreams on it.  As such, many people became dissapointed when the final product came out because there were so many different expectations and with the massive hype marketing campain everyone thought it would be "The BEST".
Skyward Sword is really not telling us that much at this point in time, the graphics isn't pandering to our desires of a Zelda Lotr hybrid, nor do we have any info on the story to decide whether it is "kiddy" or "dark and mature".
Not knowing what to expect, i think is fantastic.  Every Zelda i've played has been more or less the same, a to roll, b to swing sword, an item in every dungeon that you use on the boss, etc.  With each of the 3D Zeldas i always get bored playing through the tutorials because its the same stuff from the last game, none of us really need to relearn it.  The dungeons at the start of the games are so easy, us vets beat it in a heartbeat.  but now, we actually don't know what to expect.  In Skyward Sword we may have to play though the Tutorial, and get that awesome new feeling of discovery, like when i first played Zelda, new mechanics, no longer is it A to roll, but to sprint, the combat mechanics look like they take some getting used to, and everything in general isn't so familiar...
The get to my point, Skyward Sword at this time, is unknown.  Tomorrow we will discover probably more about it in this one sitting then we already know. In my opinion this could have a drastic effect on how Skyward Sword is recieved.

But mostly i just wanted to write a lot of stuff because i'm as excited as a 5 year old the day before christmas.  seriously...i'm a grown adult and i'm ranting like i havn't hit puberty...lol
I apologise

That's really cheap. But apparently it's the cheaper of two models, what's in the other one?

What's this I hear about a multiplayer display for PS3? It sounds really interesting but I can't find anything about it.

300 for the 3G model. Still CRAZY heap considering the CRAZY specs this thing has. Makes the 3DS look even more over priced than ever

Muddy hell, Sony's conference was nearly two hours? Bang goes my plan of catching that for breakfast before I have to go to work.

Will have to drag myself through Kotaku and the like to see what I missed there.

Only saw the closing half hour of Microsoft's conference yesterday. What I did see looked pretty damn dull. So much for the casual audience, it felt like Nintendo 08 all over again, except I wasn't all that upset.

Now, roll on 5pm!

If I was to give grades so far:

Sony: C

Nothing overly surprising or innovative. I haven't seen anything that's wowed me relating to Vita, apart from pricing. Uncharted looks nice, but the touch features look like a gimmicky afterthought. I could never see myself using the touch features over standard controls. The PS3 lineup is nice, but again, nothing earth-shattering. There were rumors of GoW4 being shown, and that got my hopes up...but alas, no such reveal took place.  I'm still not a believer in MOVE, and watching how it appeared to make playing NBA 2K12 more difficult did not put my concerns to rest. I'm so tired of motion controls. How move has moved 8.8 million units is beyond me. Retailers must really believe it will sell.

Too safe, too bland.

Microsoft: D

A disaster from the get go, literally. The presser began with CoDMW3's demo being derailed by an uncharged controller. I had to mute my TV out of embarrassment during a lot of the Kinect portion of the demonstration. Watching Kinect being incorporated into core games was beyond laughable, as seen in the Mass Effect 3 demo. I can reply to NPCs with my own voice, and slow down gameplay dramatically by giving voice command orders... lovely. Star Wars was laggy and disasterous, and most of the big name titles won't be available until 2012.

Absolute trainwreck.

For the second year in a row, it's Nintendo's show to win.

Can not agree more about Mass Effect. NOTHING they have said about the game is getting me hyped at all sadly and that sucks.

Also I turned on G4 to maybe watch some of the confrences on TV, but their "Play by play" commentary is just so dreadful I had to turn it off. Not even The Sess could keep me watching : (

Whoa it's Uchi!

Haha, I thought that was intentional at first and that they were going to introduce a new feature with it. Nope.

And there I was wondering if it would be worth catching up with the opening chunk of the Microsoft show. Sounds like a yes, to me.
