All right, the conference begins in one hour. You can watch it live here or here, but since it'll be in Japanese, you'll probably want a live blog, which can be found here.

Enjoy!

The confrence was anime as fuck. They did a hell of a job selling this game to the Japanese market with Waifu simulator (Love plus) a hatsume miku game, monster hunter 3G AND 4, a new Square IP and a Rythym/Adventure hybrid Final fantasy game and 3 Kid Icarus Animated movies being made by major Anime studios.

Makes you wonder if nintendo will have a US 3DS focused confrence in the near future.

Securing Monster Hunter 4 on 3DS is pretty big news for the system in Japan, definately bad news for Vita(of course, that isn't to say they can't port it over to Vita if it doesn't do well on 3DS), but it's good to see that Capcom still has faith in the platform.

Also, it seems like a number of games will be making use of that silly analog slider, which will require a AAA battery(REALLY?) to use.

No 3DS remodel with no 3D, but that was a really stupid rumor in the first place.

In any event, I expect a couple months after Vita launches launches Nintendo will "correct" its short-sighted design choices for the 3DS with a "3DS Lite' equivalent with a built-in second analog pad and extra shoulder button(s?), and better battery life, undercutting the hype for the Vita and securing Nintendo's spot as king of handheld gaming, such as it is.

Can't quite get as excited about Mario Tennis on 3DS when the blindingly obvious potential of that and Mario Golf on Wii have been overlooked. Will still probably get it.

Anyone who continues to criticise the 3DS for a lack of titles is the biggest fool. Though they can feel free to move their hatred onto that slide pad add-on. Ugly, ugly, uuuuuuuuurgly.

In post-conference news, we've gotten the North American release dates for the upcoming 3DS Mario games: 3D Land on November 13 (giving us one week to play it before Skyward Sword comes out) and Mario Kart 7 on December 4.

Seems like a very Japanese-centric show; I don't think Monster Hunter's success has been replicated over here, in spite of Nintendo's big push for Tri on the Wii(I still have that demo laying around somewhere).  There wasn't any announcement that made my head spin; and the delay of Kid Icarus is upsetting.  Nintendo seemed to skirt the whole slider extender MacGuffin issue...but man I've never heard people bitch and moan so much about an entirely optional device, sure it suggests Nintendo made a design-oversight with Wii, but I think they're just making up for lost time on the original DS, and how that never had an analog slider.
