One of my current favorites, but somehow I'd never thought to make a thread. Good idea.

I went hang out with my cousins when they were in the middle of watching it. I think it was like season 2 or whatever so I had no idea what was going on or any knowlege of the characters, but even with no context it looks like a really good show, and I was able to enjoy the two episodes I saw of it despite knowing nothing about the series.

The show is fantastic, great characters and an amazing storyline that keeps building off all the events that happen. I was a huge Deadwood fan, which made me a Timothy Olyphant fan, and it is good to see him return to the gunslinger type of role. The first season was really good, but the second season blew me away and the 3rd is looking to be even better. I'm glad they got Neal McDonough to play the new villain, and he is by far one of the creepiest villains so far in the series.
Side note I have met Neal McDonough and he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met, and a damn good actor. I met him at one of my fraternities leadership workshop events where they sometimes have famous Sigma Chis, I had no idea he was a Sigma Chi but it was pretty awesome.

All of this. So much. Although I will say that Limehouse is my preferred of this year's Big Bads at this point. Not that I can really judge until the season's arc hits full speed (which should be happening in a few weeks). Let's also tip our hat to the best performance given on TV last year.

Yeah Mags was a great and really interesting character last season. Margo Martindale did a wonderful job and incredible acting job with the character. I was a big fan of her in the show The Riches (one of my favorite shows that got cancelled way too early). I am hoping that this show survives my curse of shows.
There has only been 3 shows before this that I have ever followed (watched every week). Deadwood, which was cancelled after 3 seasons (for absolutely no reason), The Riches was cancelled after 2 seasons (again for no foreseeable reason), and also Eastbound and Down which is finished after this current season (3rd season). I have never had a show of mine last longer than 3 seasons, I am hoping that this one does.

I hear what you're saying about Deadwood. Most shows don't even make it to a third season, but most shows aren't the second greatest TV series of all time. I wouldn't worry about Justified, though. It might be FX's lowest-rated drama (...out of three), but it still gets a decent audience and has gotten more award attention than any FX series in recent memory.
It doesn't sound like you're a regular watcher of Archer, but tonight's episode is a Justified parody so I'd recommend checking it out if you have time.

Renewed for season 4!
There's also lots of positive buzz for tonight's episode. Considering this is the same point when last season's story kicked into high gear (i.e. Mags' town hall speech), no surprises there.

I watched the new episode last night, and it is definitely starting to get moving. Though I was unhappy that Rayland just kind of skidded through the conspiracy against him so easily. I wish they would have taken it a bit further and really put some real pressure on him.
I'm also disappointed to see Quarls (spl?) be knocked out of the game so easily, and that seems that Limehouse will be this seasons main villain. Boyd Crowder has been particularly quiet so far this season so I am waiting for him to really start pushing for power.
All in all has been a great season so far, not quite as good as season 2 yet but definitely has potential.

I wouldn't count Quarles out of the game just yet. Unlike his Deadwood counterpart (he's totally Francis Wolcott), I think he's going to be even more dangerous now that he's lost all of his power.

Gonna bump this thread. Been following season 4 for the past month or so while simultaneously catching up from the beginning. What'd you guys think of the finale?

Loved the finale, I think it's the best season capper they've done, which is saying a lot for this show. More superlatives ahead: I think I had a stronger response to Ava going to prison and its emotional fallout than anything since a certain non-villain character's death in season 2. Sad to see Mike O'Malley leave the show. I thought they might be setting up a season 5 storyline focused on Detroit, but it's probably for the best. So uhhhh 4 > 2 > 3 > 1. Hoping for the return of Dickie Bennett next year.

Heh, I'm two away from finishing season 3, guess that means Dickie's gonna survive his dealings with Boyd and Arlo. Seriously, how does that dude keep living through these situations? Watching season 2, I thought he was going to be the first Bennet to go.

I honestly thought they were going to kill off Ava.
