Ok, these are my favorite two bands and I absolutely hate to seperate tham like this, but since GAMEFREAK has quite a few polls at the moment I said to myself "eh, what the hell".
Well, System of a Down is better for their sometimes political, sometimes crazy lyrics and molodies. They are better for giving rage a voice. From their early albums like Toxicity to their recent ones like Mesmerize/Hypnotize they really changed though, they were very different in these albums. In M/H they became a lot more crazy/angry, but in a good way. In Toxicity and SOAD they were angry yet emotional at the same time. Steal This Album was sort of in the middle, it was a little crazy, angry, and emotional at the same time.
Disturbed is better for pure demonic rage. No argument on that. They are great for making a person channel out their aggresion simply by listening to their music.
They are both amazing for modern rock standards, but in different ways. What do you guys think (don't bash them, please, they don't deserve that)?

Disturbed. There like, one of the few bands who haven't gone all political/down with government yet.
...yet.
Though "Down with the Sickness (full version) was kinda scary.

SOAD is political, but not punk, which is a double positive if you ask me. Besides, any of their political songs get really hardcore which is even more awesome.

System. Never heard Disturbed. If anyone can convince me I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, really, re-heally missing out, then I might look 'em up.
Top three System songs: Aerials, B.Y.O.B. and Question!

System of a Down ftw. I'm not sure why, but I realy like system of a Down. Disturbed just gets on my nerves, they play Disturbed too much on the radio. I'd like them a little bit more if they wouldn't have dumb random screams in their songs. Especially Land of Confusion, that song annys the hell out of me. ><

I like system of a down just because of their zelda song Please tell me you're not serious... #7. Claming System of a Down is responsible for the "Link! He Come to Town!" song. This has a good history behind it that some may not know. Sure, Joe Pleiman's voice sounds a bit like one of the members of System of a Down, but the real kicker was certain Zelda fans claiming they saw System of a Down (or some other band) play this song live in concert. Pics or it didn't happen. The lyrics are by Joe Pleiman, and the song is featured on the albub "The Rabbit Joint". Everytime I hear that suggestion, I want to break thumbs. Don't make me break your thumbs, SL...

I love them both, but SOAD is what got me into the genre and I still like them slightly more. That's not to say I don't love Disturbed though. Note: EA, Arials probably isn't one of their best songs... they have a ton of songs that aren't singles that probably surpass it. Singles too, maybe. For instance... I-E-A-I-A-I-O, Stealing Society, Fuck the System, u-fig, Attack, Kill Rock n' Roll, Chop Suey. BYOB is their most famous song, Question is maybe their most emotional (I love both). On that subject then, they probably don't need a top 3, because they have so many damn good songs. EA, Disturbed has memorable ones you should check out such as Down With The Sickness, Stupify, Voices, Prayer, Liberate, Remember, Shout 2000, Rise, Glass Shatters, Decadence, Hell, Darkness, Pain Redefined (easily one of the top 3 songs of theirs), and The Game. No particular order of goodness there, but I reccomend you listen to all of those if you like Pain Redefined, Voices, or Down With the Sickness. If you don't like them...

EA, Disturbed has memorable ones you should check out such as Down With The Sickness.... *remembers that from one of Wierd Al's polka parodies, YouTubes it to see what it originally sounded like, isn't overly blown away...* Will try your other suggestions later. Note: EA, Arials probably isn't one of their best songs... they have a ton of songs that aren't singles that probably surpass it. *adds the IMO tag to his previous post* There's just something about Aerials which pleases my ears. Can't fully explain it, but everything else you mentioned is still pretty good. On that subject then, they probably don't need a top 3, because they have so many damn good songs. In the words of Plasma... I concur.

SoaD for the win.
Just look at my ITunes library and then well talk....
Hypnotize CD has been played nearly 100 times since bying the Ipod...and it was left on repeat by my girlfriend...

EA suggested we should revive some threads, so I'll start.
That said: wow, 14 year-old korenshei's posts are thoroughly embarrassing to look back on.

This thread's so old SOAD have been on hiatus and come back again. Still no official word on a new album, though. Though my tastes have moved on generally speaking, I do still find myself going back to these guys once in a while. Hypnotize/Mezmorize will always have great memories of my final schooldays. Second to Nightwish and Alice in Chains for that period of my life...
And I still haven't listened to anything more from Disturbed, though.
