After taking the Zelda world by storm months ago, Hyrule Historia--previously available only in Japan and in Japanese--is finally going to be localized here in the West come January:

http://gengame.net/2012/08/hyrule-historia-is-being-officially-localized-published-by-dark-horse-comics/

All I can say is, God bless Dark Horse Comics (and not just because I love their Star Wars comics).

Fun fact: The Alex Plant who posted this article is none other than The Hylia's very own LexLionHart, if any of you folks remember him.

More details here: http://mynintendonews.com/2012/08/16/new-english-hyrule-historia-details-emerge/

Apparently, this has been in the making for some time, and the English version will be "thicker" than the Japanese version, with extra notes.

Finally, it will be available in North America, UK, Australia, and "some additional parts of Europe."

You've never heard of Hyrule Historia?

It came out in Japan only, I want to say last December. It's most famous for containing the first official timeline for the Zelda series (remember the tri-split timeline). It also has tons of official art, much of it never seen before, and a bunch of background on each game.

This is great news, now the last piece of the puzzle would be the complete Symphony of the Goddess recordings in a nice boxed-set.

Got it for my birthday, only skimmed through it but my goodness what a read it looks set to be. Although the words are probably outnumbered by pictures. Although it's pretty heavy on the Skyward Sword stuff, it's fascinating to see how the character models developed through various concepts.
