Loki: I was exaggerating a bit.

Brenna: That was going to be my second guess, of course.

Zim: I have no idea who that is.

You've never seen a picture of marx?

that might be a lesser known one, but, never.

It's.... karl marx.

jesus.
As Americans, we are only shown the angry, homeless looking Marx.

Case in point. Also, true dat.
When I start having kids, I refuse to send them to public school. It's an amazing difference in education in a private school vs. in public.

Still hotter than hell here with no end in sight. And I'm about 6 years behind everyone else right now... but I'm finally playing through Twilight Princess. <3 it.

When you get to the point where you realize the American education system sucks, you have to take your knowledge into your own hands and start learning for yourself. There's a point where you can't say "I don't know things because I wasn't taught them." It becomes "I don't know things because I haven't investigated them."

That said, I would've never guessed that was Karl Marx. I'm used to the more grizzly, bearded pictures of him.

Sending children to private schools stifles social mobility for the children of the lower classes.

Don't be part of the problem, campaign for better education, revolt if you have to, don't crush other working peoples children's opportunities.

...we do campaign for better education... not that it gets us anywhere. That's when we hear "leave it to private sector" or "homeschool them!"

Oh, that's what I have been doing, on and off, for years. Still, I don't have time to educate myself on everything.

The Amazing Spiderman didnt actually suck!

I enjoyed it much more than the previous films, except Spider Man 2.

And there was no Jameson. The villain was actually believably conceived.

Andrew Garfield was great and his chemistry with Emma Stone was hilarious.

That's good to hear.  I was afraid they were just gonna phone it in.  I'd be kinda bummed that Jameson's not in the movie though.

Yeah, I just got back from it. Was fine. Not as good as 1 and 2, better than 3. I almost nodded off during the first 45 minutes, but once the origin story sleepiness was over, it picked up a lot.

I don't want Jameson back unless they're willing to put JK Simmons in the role again. Can't be replaced.

I thought the movie was a bit too worshipful of the character at some points, and the score didn't help at all. The last (pre-credits) shot was hilariously bad.

But like I said, still a good movie. Stone and Garfield are much better together than Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst ever were.

Put it this way NH: Go in with zero expectations like I did and it's great. I prefer it over the original SpiderMan actually. I mean come on, the Green goblin's costume was laughably stupid.

Hisak: That shot was awful. My friend actually stood up and said, much louder than intended, "Are you fucking kidding me?". Also, mid credits scene could've easily been the better ending in the movie than the final shot of Spiderman we got. Not spoiling it for those of you who havent seen it yet

Happy 4th everyone! Don't end up in the ER with burns and amputated limbs.

I shall be watching the festivities inside and drinking with my alcoholic cat. That's what I call celebrating the fourth properly.

In other news my youtube history is all either, socialist folk songs, star trek, or metric.

I'm expecting one day to get an electro-new wave star trek socialist pop song.

Then my life will be complete.
