Avengers was probably delayed so it'd release during the summer movie season. There's not much reason to release a massive blockbuster in America in mid-April.

Those 2 weeks? I can only imagine it being more succesful rather than not. There aren't any big movies out at the moment.

Probably because ticket prices are ridiculous and no one wants to pay that much.  I was surprised to learn that Battleship doesn't come out til later this month here

Tickets over here cost € 9,50 + € 2,50 for the 3D. That's about, say, $16...

I wish they hadn't released Battleshit.

We have the cheapest cinema in my city.  With the VIP card it's still only €5 per movie, and an additional €1 or €2 for extra long or 3D movies.

Going to see Avengers in like an hour. Also I need to return Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare (I bought it yesterday) because all it's making me do is play the regular game.

Okay everyone 9 more days until I ship off to basic. I don't know if I am excited about that though.

I should have come back and pretended to be a fascist for like 3 weeks or something.

Like posting fascist theory, and writing corporatist screeds.

Instead, just remember, I am right, and everything I say is true.

Not sure if I've ever enjoyed a superhero movie as much as The Avengers. Totally worth it. I'd say go see it, but everybody already has.

I think I may be going to see the Avengers tonight, I was going to wait until this weekend of so but I go on call for work tomorrow. On call means for the week I am basically 24x7 support for my group, so at anytime if I get paged I gotta stop what I'm doing and log on to fix the issue. Pretty miserable when you get those 3-6am calls.

It really is THAT good. Joss Whedon and the cast did a phenomenal job of translating The Avengers to the big screen. Perfect mix of humor and action. I havent enjoyed seeing a movie like I did this one in forever.

Oh and stay for the credits, best end credits scene ever.

I really enjoyed it. It was a ton of fun, action packed, humorous, and everything just looked great. I'm glad they gave The Hulk (who is probably the least popular of them all) a lot of love, and in my opinion he completely stole the show. My favorite has always been Captain America, and I was glad they still kept him in the semi-leader role for this movie and gave him plenty of spotlight even though he is probably right next to The Hulk in terms of popularity.

I am completely satisfied with the movie and think that it worked extremely well. The dialogue was great and the characters meshed extremely well together. I'm already looking forward to The Avengers 2 (which after seeing how much money this one has made I can guarantee will happen), which is still 3 years away at least.

What's your opinion on the guy playing Bruce Banner in the movie?  I hear he's good, but I really liked Edward Norton's portrayal.

In general the reviews the movie is getting makes it pretty impressive.  It was a pretty ambitious project kick-started by Iron Man and I'm glad to hear they brought it all together smoothly.  I hope Marvel studios makes more super hero movies.
