You know, Mario Galaxy looks about as good as this game visually, the only difference is this game's a but busier in terms of the environment and will have HD.

Uhuh! [/offering quotes to express his PS3-bashing-nature]

Don't get me started on the whole overpowered cpu creation that is the PS3. I've always been fine with graphics the way they are, and especially now with the Wii I doubt they'll ever really be an issue in the way they technically/visually could be in the past decade. Heck, even Sunshine looked perfectly splendid to me. For me, and I bet many other gamers, its the entire gameplay experience which does it. Not just that unrealistically hyped aspect of visuals alone...

And that's another point on the board for Nintendo.

Hooray for being able to see Captain Quark in "mind-blowing, jaw-dropping High Defintion detail... All the game needs to do is come out with a free HD-ready TV for the 90% of the gaming population who are currently going without...

Mario Sunshine was as good as graphics ever need to be for me. Galaxy is looking sweet, and is going down the opposite route of R&C by offering vast, empty settings, which will actually be far more impressive because they will display the depth of the levels and, far, far more importantly, the gameplay.

Gameplay > Graphics every time.

Holy shit was I psychic? Can anyone remember something similar which happened to 100 people, five days later at the London PS3 launch?

Anyway, news for the Clankers (that's my nickname for R&C fans which I just made up to open this post) Tools of Destruction is to be single-player only.

We've decided that for Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction it was best to focus solely on creating a massive single-player adventure. This decision is based on what we believe our fans would want (the vast majority who play single-player) and where our time would best be spent. After stepping back and looking at the franchise as a whole, we felt that crafting a massive single-player adventure would be more in line with the true essence of the series.

Anything to do with SMG's single player quest looking to kick massive arse, and the R&C multiplayer modes of the past not impressing that much?

Wow, I might actually be growing to like a PS3 game. And it's R&C (obviously), no less. Sure it's nowhere near enough to get me to buy one of the damn machines, but any game with a gadget known as the Grooveatron* has to be worth a look.

(*I'm even resisting the urge to actually cry "rip-off" following the selected objects in Rayman RR which could get the bunnies to dance if you shot them...)

Okay, after putting the skepticism aside I've come to a similar conclusion: R&C actually looks good. Looks fun. Looks worthy.

Any game creators putting in such inventions - which cause baddies to dance like crazy - must be doing something right...

Nuh uh. I merely identified a parallel between the two games. James Bond should have a gadget styled like this... Well, in the Roger Moore period I guess.

For true cries of rip off, see the "Home" thread.
