Me, I ask my mom if I could get it for my birthday, which is in February. She will have to consider it. I never asked my parents nor anyone else in the family for something this expensive (by our standards) for birthdays or Christmases. It applies to my dad's side, it's just the way our big family is. It sucks sometimes. =(

For those of you waiting outside a regular walmart, please be careful.  Walmart is actually in a law suit right now because their camera systems only cover the inside of the building and not outside.  Apparently, a considerable percent of the countrys rapes and robbings happen right outside of a walmart, because their company doesn't give a **** about what happens outside, even though they have security right indoors!

Not here in Louisiana. Or at least in my city. Each of our Wal*Marts have at least 4 or 5 very visible cameras right up on the roof. Unless of course they're just for display and aren't actually being used. Which yeah, really puts Wally World up **** creek without a paddle.

I plan to get to Best Buy at about 4AM on the 19th, and when the doors open run like hell to the games section and relay the wii to a cashier.

Paycheck 1: This friday.
Paycheck 2: Two weeks from this friday, and the friday after the Wii's release.

Yep. my next check is being cashed (rather than the usual deposit), for Wii expenses. With the hope that I'll be able to pick one up, that is.

not having one pre orderd..me and kakarkio villager are gonna go to the local walmart saturday night and see if they have them out, if not we go home and call at 12am.  and probably just drive down there cause its just down the street.  If they don't have it then theres the mall which is a few towns over. We pack mace, lead pipes and uhhh look real "mean" to ensure our chances of snagging a wii on launch day.  :D  yep, thats our plan.

I'm hoping that my mom will forgive my terrible grades by Christmas and live up to her word to get me one for Christmas. If not, I could just save my money up and get one around my birthday...
Or I could get a job

I'm going to sigh as I watch all my other friends get their Wiis, and then turn on my NES and get my gamer on.

NEW PLAN: Work my *** off and earn money until I can buy one. Hopefully, this will take long enough that I'll be able to buy a Wii after they finish working out the bugs.

Well, I did my research for my Super Wal-Mart's Wii launch. I will try my hardest to be there around 8pm (which I hope to God is early enough) and go to Customer Service, where I will get a ticket that says I was *insert number* in line, even though there won't really be a line. Chairs will be set up around this area for the patient Wii buyers to hang and wait until midnight (so I will probably bring some reading or gaming material), at which time they will get a Wii in the order by which they arrived and got a ticket to avoid a frenzied rushing. They said that they didn't know how many Wiis they'd be getting, but since my local Best Buy is getting around 80, I would hope and imagine that a Wal-Mart of that size would be getting at least 50.

If all goes according to plan, I'll drop by the Gamestop next door for their midnight Zelda party, pick up my Zelda reservation, go home and sleep. That's right: sleep. I do have school and work on Monday to worry about, and I refuse to underperform in these more important aspects of life because I stayed up all night playing games. So I will go to sleep, wake up the next morning, open my Wii and enjoy the whole day.

However, I do have a Plan B. Should I fail, my cousin, who be spending the weekend in his much-smaller hometown, will drop by the local Wal-Mart and grab a Wii for me, as they are likely to have a fair few to go around. Of course, I will reimburse him in full.

I already have all the money saved up (more than enough) so I'll head down to Gamestop on the 19th and pick up Zelda, which I preordered. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to preorder a Wii, so I'm going to go everywhere in my town to see if they have one. But I can wait if they don't have any... I hope...

Generally, from what I've seen, it's better to wait for a console to have a few months on the market so that bugs can be discovered/fixed. But that's just me.

I'll say generally with Nintendo, their launches tend to work out pretty well, I've only had a few problems with my Gamecube that I got the first Christmas, Metroid Prime froze once on my, and I think I've had a disc read error or two, but it was most likely from a crappy disc.  I had two dead pixels in my DS, which I got replaced, if there's any problem, I'll just have Nintendo take care of it.

Hey man, I'm just trying to find a bright side to the fact that I have to wait several months after launch to get a Wii...

GOOD INFO!

Thanks man!  After we get off work (me and KakarikoV.) We will go to our local walmart and wait..Going to customer service and asking for a ticket of some sort is a great idea..Much better than looming over the clerks desk in electronics for 6 hours....

We have a sale paper that says "No fewer than 20 units in each walmart *limit one per coustomer..blah blah* "  I was starting to panic about how many ours would get.

It's amazing how one week can seem longer than one month. It's going to be hard to stay focused this week, but somehow I'll manage. The last two hours will probably be unbearable as I wait at Wal-Mart, but it won't be as bad as the six hour bus ride I was in today. I'll probably bring my DS and maybe some school stuff to work on to pass the time.

Wake up, buy it, play Zelda for a week.

I can't wait.  I love High School being super easy.
