GOOD INFO!

Thanks man!  After we get off work (me and KakarikoV.) We will go to our local walmart and wait..Going to customer service and asking for a ticket of some sort is a great idea..Much better than looming over the clerks desk in electronics for 6 hours....

We have a sale paper that says "No fewer than 20 units in each walmart *limit one per coustomer..blah blah* "  I was starting to panic about how many ours would get.

I can't say anything about your Wal-Mart, dude. That's just the way mine is doing it, and I have no idea if others will follow suit. You might want to get in touch with yours and confirm.

And I certainly hope that my Wal-Mart will be getting more than just 20 units! That's gonna be cuttin' it close . . .

Dammit, I really wish I could have gotten a preorder this morning. Has there been any speculation on how many units each store will be getting? I'm wondering what the chances of going around 10am and getting a Wii will be.

The funny, and sad, part is that I have a gauranteed Zelda TP for the Wii waiting for me at my local EB game shop. But no Wii is promised to my possesion that day. My best hope is to go to work that day at around 6:30, since I work at a 24 hour Wal-Mart and hope I can pick it up before work, if there are any left. Otherwise i have no idea how long i'll have to wait until I can get mine. So I just may have a copy of the game...but no system to play it on. Oh well, I got the GC version waiting for me as well. So I'm covered either way. and i f I do get one, its gonna take up my remaining free time. Hopefully my girlfriend understands...

Is it me or is are those ''pre-orders'' not really pre-orders? You'd think that if you pre-order one, you'd get one automaticly.

That's the purpose of the preorder. Preorder early and avoid the lines. Where is this method not being followed?

I know. But I hear many people saying they're not getting one, even though they have pre-orders. Which is why I posted the above.

Even if I can't get it so soon and possibly might not get it for my birthday which is less than three months, I want to go to gamestores etc. and see the long lines. I wonder how long it would be in my pretty small city.

thats for the ps3 thl, not the wii. The wii may have a different wait. Availablilty won't be that big a problem but I reccomend a wait in line though. You probobly won't have to camp.

Yeah, PS3 predictions have been slashed to between 125,000-200,000.  I was just at my local GameStop and found out that they only have eight PS3s to boot and had to cancel half of the preorders until the next shipment.  People are already lined up outside of various establishments.

I think there will be lines for Wii, but they won't be as big because EB/GameStop/Toys "R" Us are actually getting the amount they sold preorders for.

I also departed with a few items

Prince of Persia: $5
Skies of Arcadia: $9
Sonic Rush: $7
Mario and Luigi DS: $12
Rogue Leader: $1(I didn't realize it until after I traded it XD)
Clone Wars: $7
Gameboy Player: $14
Mario and Luigi GBA: $5
Metroid Zero Mission: $1.50
Sonic Advance 2: $5
Metroid Fusion: $1
Golden Sun: $1.50
---

Gamecube w/ controller, power cord, and video adapter: $25*CRINGE*
Broken DS: $28
GBA SP w/ Power Cord: $22

went for more than a complete GCN system.

Total: $144

I also have $95 down on the system, Zelda and a spare Wiimote, should end up costing me $126 on launch day.

wow sounds like they overpaid, especially for the GCN.

Anyways I didn't have to trade anything in. I like to keep my systems anyways so I doubt I would have anyways though. I now owe around 230 dollars for the games and system. I'll have to put down an extra 50 as well because I decided to buy a new game. I'll have to feed off of my PS3 budget to pay for my wii stuff so I have to limit my purchases for both, which sucks.

I'll have to see how my salary is doing on the end of the month. If I get enough, I'll buy my Xbox360. If not, I'll be getting a Wii during/after launch so I can enjoy TP and get my Xbox360 on my birthday a few weeks later.

I'll never sell my consoles. I like having them as a collectors item.

Well that DS was completely worthless to me, the GCN as well as Wii does everything a GCN can except play the GB Player which I never use anyway.  And the SP was just old, if I ever want to play a GB game again, I'll dust off the old Super Gameboy.

This is the only time I've sold a major system.

So, what information has everyone gathered on various camping locations?

From talking to people at Target, I've gathered that they'll start handing out tickets at 7:00 AM on sunday (and open at 8:00 AM).

Gathered from the Internet, because I generally despise talking to Wal-Mart employees, they will start selling Wii's at 12:01 AM on Sunday, but will (may) start handing out tickets at 10:00 PM, Saturday.

Anyone got any more information? Anyone got any reccomendations for when to arrive to assure getting a Wii? I live in a town of... 25,000-ish and I believe my Target will be getting 24 Wiis, if that helps anyone with guessing what their Target will get.

Well, plans have changed a bit; my local Wal-Mart canceled the midnight launch for both the PS3 and Wii. Now I'm going to wake up at 6 AM and be at Wal-Mart by 6:30, waiting until they open at 9. My county's population is 42,151 according to Wikipedia, but Wal-Mart is the only place therein to buy a Wii. According to several employees there will be 20 Wiis and 8 copies of Twilight Princess.
