What are your plans for getting the Wii? Originally I was going to try to pre-order from Gamestop.com, but they still haven't started accepting them and as fast as most online outlets sold out, I doubt that I could get one through them, anyway. Now my only option is to camp out at Wal-Mart at launch. I've heard that there will be a midnight opening for the Wii, but so far it has not been advertised at my local Wal-Mart, so I'm not sure. Either way I imagine that I need to get there an hour or two ahead of time. My town isn't that big on gaming, but I'm sure that as popular as the Wii is there will be more people in line than there was with the GCN.

At launch I plan to get a Wii and Twilight Princess. For Christmas I'll most likely ask for an extra Wiimote and Nunchuk, a classic controller, and another game that is as of now undecided.

I figure I'll wind up getting a Wii eventually, maybe January or so.  From what I understand, I'm chipping in with six or seven friends who also tend to inhabit my house to get everything we need for some quality multiplayer action.  That being said, Red Steel better damn well be good, and I hope Brawl isn't too long in the making.

I've taken Sunday off of work on the 19th, I'll wake up around 9:00, have some breakfast , take a shower, drive over to the local EB before it opens then get my glorious new systems.  I'll have Twilight Princess and possibly Red Steel as well as a spare controller.  I'll take a few vanity shots and post them on the main site for you guys!  Then I'll proceed to play Twilight Princess probably all day, unless my friend Matt drops by and I might pick up Red Steel or Wii Sports for a bit.

I'll be waiting in line most of Saturday and picking it up at midnight. Playing it all night/day. Too bad I have school Monday. At least it's a short week.

I don't really know yet. I missed out on both Gamestop and ToysRus preorders, so I'll either preorder from another chain if I can or just head to Best Buy as early as possible before the (midnight?) launch since they aren't taking preorders. I'll definitely pick up Twilight Princess and probably a second remote and nunchuck for Wii Sports too. None of the other launch games interest me enough to warrant the extra cost (unless Red Steel turns out to be incredibly awesome, in which case I might ask for it for Christmas), and Zelda will keep me busy for a long time, so that's it for me.

Once I get them, I'll probably play Wii Sports first as an introduction to the Wii and its controls. Maybe I'll even get my parents to try it with me. After that, it's time for Twilight Princess at last.

I got one preordered currently. I might be selling it though if it sells out. Im not going to open it till after thanksgiving. If the price drives up over 450 dollars I will sell it and wait for the next shipment. Im patient and most games I want for the wii aren't out yet and im kinda upset that there are way too many kiddie games once again at launch. Im going to be watching which road nintendo takes to decide if I even want to rebuy a wii. I will probably use the money I make to get a 360

I'm just going to sleep in until 9 or so. Then, I'm going to roll out of bed, wash up, and head over to my gamestop. I'll have to wait for 2 other people, then I'll walk right in and pick it up along with Red Steel, Twilight princess, and trauma center. I'm going to play Red steel and TC first, then play TP nonstop.

I don't think you actually have to wait for the people who were in front of you...they will just turn you away if they have less consoles then they preordered and you fell off the list.

I plan on getting up to my Circuit City at around 8AM (we open at 9) depending on how many Wii's we get in and if I see anyone lining up when I leave work the previous night (we had that for the 360). In which case I will call up at 8 to see if there are too many people lined up and if there is I will try a different circuit city.

The reason Im buying from circuit city for sure is because I have 250 in giftcards which pretty much pays for my Wii (probably a bit more with my employee discount). I also plan on buy Zelda TP, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and a extra controller.

I hate all of you..... My best hopes of getting a Wii is if my brother and I get it for Christmas... With chances of 1 to 1,000,000. And even then I have to listen to all of you talk about TP and it'll tick me off because I have to wait for December.... Curse you DS lite... If I didn't have to pay for you....

I'm putting aside my next two paychecks to try and get a Wii asap. Not sure how high the demand is gonna be, so not entirely sure when I'll get it, but hopefully not too long from now.

Paycheck 1: This friday.
Paycheck 2: Two weeks from this friday, and the friday after the Wii's release.

I'm most likely getting Wii on my birthday in about 2 months, so all is good. I'm not in a hurry really, although as Twilight Princess is getting closer and closer, I can't wait.

I think I'm going to freeze myself.

I encountered the same problem myself with the ps3. Generally, the parents aren't well informed about the systems. fortunately I told them about gamestop's preorders (which came out of nowhere). They were able to snag the ps3 I requested and my wii (2 days later). I'm paying for the majority of the wii games by myself due to money constraints, but all is good. Only 11 / 13 more days to go until next-gen goodness.

No, they're buying the Ps3(s) and the games. I'm buying the wii and the games for it. I was initially going to buy both, but they wanted to help out since they're cool parents/like the Ps3 and want to guilt trip me into playing it.

I got weasled out of my toys-r-us pre-order (bastards *cough* ) so here's my new gameplan:

a) Go to the 24-7 walmart around 8 or 9.  If it's crowded, stay.  If it's not, go grab a coffee then come back.  Buy wii and twilight princess, drive home and play zelda till dawn!

If that fails, proceed to plan b:

b) borrow my mother's cosco-members card and do my makeup to look like her, then go in when cosco opens in the morning and snag a system.

My plan is similar to Haruto's, which is go hang out at my 24/7 Wal-Mart until they decide to put the systems out. No waiting outside in the cold like a sucker.

However, I should probably get more info on how they're going to go about giving the Wiis out. Will there be a place inside the store to get in line, or will we all just be allowed to loiter until the nightstock guys bring them out?

I talked to my Wal-Mart today and they are indeed having a midnight opening. They are going to close at 10 like normal, then re-open at midnight for the launch, then close again soon after. I'm planning to get there at ten and wait in the car until I see someone else in line. The employee said that they're not sure if they'll have any games yet, though, so I'm kinda worried about that (they didn't at the GCN's launch, which is why I asked). If I am able to get a Wii and TP I'm going to stay up most of the night playing, though.

I want to know how the walmart super-centers will do it, since technically, they never close.  I haven't heard anything about this wii-party-release thing, either.  Since they're not closed, ideally, they can't force you to stand outside to wait, I just hope they don't pull the toys-r-us bullshit and start handing out tickets to randomly selected people a few days in advance.

For those of you waiting outside a regular walmart, please be careful.  Walmart is actually in a law suit right now because their camera systems only cover the inside of the building and not outside.  Apparently, a considerable percent of the countrys rapes and robbings happen right outside of a walmart, because their company doesn't give a **** about what happens outside, even though they have security right indoors!
