That is indeed the question.
Just another random poll for you folks. I do like a good poll. Do we prefer the 2-D Zeldas or the 3-D Zeldas?
FTR: 2-D= LoZ, AoL, LTTP, LA, OoA, OoS, MC, FS/FSA 3-D= OoT, MM, WW, TP
I think that while the 3-D games do have a far deeper presentation, I enjoy the 2-D ones far more. I can't full explain it. It may just be the fact that I've played the Oracles and TP recently, and enjoyed Oracles a lot more...

I'm not exactly sure. While I enjoy 3D envirements, mostly it depends on the quality. For an example, OoT was 3D and all, but could have been better for a 3D game, while I feel that TMC was better, and yet was in 2D.

OoT completely blew me away at the time, and even today still plays well. It was so immersive, detailed and full of life- particularly for its time.
MC was a little too short for my liking, and while it was good isn't an OoT beater.

I have only just cast my vote... I actually had to think about this for the last 2 hours. While the 2-D games MADE Zelda into what it is now, boasting a great number of games, each with their good, great and sublime traits, I have chosen the 3-D Zelda's for the impact OOT made for the Zelda series, and the continued patronage in my no.2 favorite MM, and also in my top 5 TWW & TP. It was a close call though. I'm a terribly nostalgic person. If I would put all my scores for the 2-D and the 3-D Zelda games together, the 3-D games would still win, but not by THAT much. Still, I love(d) this thread

@Illuminated
Gee... What about... Not showing yourself in posts that you couldn't give less about?! Why messing with people's shine? I, for one, like this poll-thread. And that's why I am *here*. I don't know why you are...

Might I say your poll choices kind of lean people into 2-D.
I chose 3-D, of course. TP and OoT are my first and second favorite games of all time, respectively. I do love the 2-D ones, of course, but if I had to choose to get rid of one and keep the other it would be 2-D.

I can't vote because there's no middle answer.
They are like two completely different styles of games, and they each have their positives and negatives.. I like both styles equallly.

I can't vote because there's no middle answer. I was hoping people could push themselves into finding that one they truly did prefer above all. My bad. Might I say your poll choices kind of lean people into 2-D It's the lack of an exclamation mark at the end of the 3-D option that does it...

Well, time to revisit another old thread.
I have completed my trip through Holodrum and Labrynna again, and have to say the Oracles trump TP completely. There just seems to be a greater level of diversity in the game, a more satisfying conclusion to the overall two-game story arc, and particularly the boss fights felt more rewarding.
Example: Onox in OoS vs Dark Beast Ganon in TP. I spent an age attacking Onox with my boomerang and super slingshot before realising it wasn't gonna work. Worked out TP Ganon's weakness in seconds. The glowing gem was sort of a giveaway...

Though there are examples in both camps, I generally favor 2D bosses in terms of challenge. LOZ, AOL, ALTTP, OOA/OOS bosses anyone? Right. Onox I really liked. Veran was great too, both as a boss and a character. Should continue my Oracle ventures again soon, it's the Zelda's I left of at before I got my jolly Wii.

Meh, I thought most of the bosses in ALttP were easy. I only had trouble with the second and third bosses, Blind the theif, and Ganon, and now, the later two aren't too chellenging, if you use four bottles filled with blue potion or the Magic Cape.

Indifferent. It's not what makes the game great. Based on different technology and different platforms (home console vs. portable gaming) it's unfair to compare the different mediums, really.
