For some reason I think that there is no Mario Timeline for all the games. I think there is tons of timelines for the games... such as Paper Mario gets its own timeline, and Mario Bros.(1,2,and 3) get its own too. Or maybe there is no timeline at all. Mario nowadays is kinda aiming toward the hardcore Nintendo fan and kids. So Nintendo probably doesn't bother too much as they do in Zelda.

Now that I think about it I think Nintendo (after all the gaps have been
filled in: Year: 2021) they will have one big game with mario, zelda, and everyone else in that universe, that will end the franchises and wrap everything up.
Note: Not for long long time will this game take place, it will probally happen when the zelda/mario directors grow old and have to retire!

It is my belief that Goombas evolved into the delfino island dwellers due to the complete lack of Goombas in Mario Sunshine.

I really think they're ordered out they way they were released. That can't be, because Bowser is a good guy in Super Mario RPG, but is still evil in Super Mario 64. Super Mario 64... and apparantly every game that's been released since then must have been a prequel to Super Mario RPG. |

Thats because Bowser put his differences aside to team up with against a greater evil than himself. If I've learned anything form comic books and wrestling it happens all the time. |

Super Mario 64..." *cough* Honestly, this is an issue. I don't think he'd just "temporarily run over". Bowser is bad-***. But then there's Super Smash Bross, where everyone teams up against the Pokémon team...  This is harder than I thought. |

I wouldn't dream of it myself, as the Super Mario Timeline is even more bewildering to me than a sense-making TLOZ one. But I give to you the generic heads up.

Any Mario game with the Koopa kids is the last in the timeline. I'd bet NSMB is after SMB-LL
Group the games, and a timeline can easily be found.
