Another PS3 Exclusive Bites The Dust

Yes, despite the claims of improved support for developers at the GDC, it doesn't seem to have had any influence at all and I am sad to report that Sony are mourning the loss of another third-party exclusive. Devil May Cry 4 is now set to be launched simultaneously for PS3, XBox 360 and PC.

"Capcom is committed to making its titles available to as wide an audience as possible, and has been building its technology base to meet that goal," the release over at PS3 Fanboy said. Translation? The PS3 audience is tiny and we aren't gonna risk this one. Expect a Wii-enabled version sometime soon...?

MGS 4 and FFXIII are the last big PS3 exclusives standing, but for how long...?

Still gotta wonder about those two people (see poll) who said the PS3 will come out on top this generation. It's looking pretty crappy to me...  :

Your abilities to translate from English to English are astounding, EA ^^
But it's an interesting thing... I wouldn't dismiss Capcom from the game developer's list - they're quite the asset in fact. So if Capcom would choose not to release anything for the PS3 then well, surely this is another thorn in Sony's feet...

Things are looking crappier by the minute... From their point of view anyway. I'm pretty pleased meself! ^^

As am I.....

DMC willl be good on the 360 and there really is only 2 reasons left to even think about the now doomed system: MGS4 and FF XIII, both of which will probally end up on the 360 anyways.

YEAH 360!!!

That's kind of a big assumption.  The Japanese still hate the 360 and Devil May Cry isn't anywhere near as big as MSG or FF.

Jorde makes a fine point there the Japanese probably won't jump that far. They are somewhat of arch enemies.

Passed by the Game Mania store closest to campus this morning. Not only was no one bothering to go near the PS3-stand, there were even adds on the windows about the midnight launch supplemented by the statement that you could STILL ORDER PS3's...

If that means that supply > demands I'm gonna laugh. Hard.

I wouldn't count on that for too long. There may not have been shooting, but something probably happened crime wise.

That still doesn't mean there couldn't be a American released only MGS 4...

...

Apparently according to leaked figures from Games Tracker, UK sales for the PS3 have dropped from 165,000 to 34,000 to...

17,000. (Versus the still crazyily-in-demand Wii at 25,000) And these figures are reliable as they were the first to confirm the shocking 165K launch numbers.

The 20GB PS3 has now been confirmed no more in the States, which means there is no "cheaper option" at this time which is likely to scare some more people away.

And finally... The PS3 is being outsold by two last generation consoles in Japan. The PS2 and Wii (take that GC-Duct Tape facsists)...

There ya go. Good news from all three big regions.

... Or not so good. But still, I want to know who the Hell said it would come out on top?
