I have an ultra-super-evil riddle for you to solve! here it is:

Is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
In a middleman's world, there's just no telling.
Dark deals have been made, and only one (or two) can backset
The rampage of he who would corrupt the planet.

Yet the first key to his destruction lies within his master's domain.
It holds ancient power, but is no cane
It's raison d'etre fails but in one example
To expose evil's reflection, it will be ample

Can you explain the entire riddle?

is this from TP?
Assuming this was from the game:

Is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
In a middleman's world, there's just no telling.

I'd assume it means, will this fight against evil continue or stop here.

Dark deals have been made, and only one (or two) can backset
The rampage of he who would corrupt the planet.

Ok..Dark Deals? Zant getting his power from Ganondorf. Link ( and Midna ) can stop Zant/Ganondorf from ruling the world.

Yet the first key to his destruction lies within his master's domain.
It holds ancient power, but is no cane

The master sword lies within I'd assume OoT Link's domain. The Forest?

It's raison d'etre fails but in one example
To expose evil's reflection, it will be ample

The Master Sword can only be pulled by one ( the hero ) but it will take down the evil.

Taking it in context with TP seems simple, I could be wrong.

Is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
The birth of Ganondorf. The possible beginning of the destruction of Hyrule, and the final chapter in the creation of Hyrule at the birth of the true owner of the Triforce of Power. (The Triforces of Wisdom and Courage issued to Link and Zelda in TMC)
In a middleman's world, there's just no telling.
If you moved the Triforces of Wisdom and Courage apart, and slid the Triforce of Power down so they lined up, the Triforce of Power would be the middle piece. Ganondorf is the "middleman".
Dark deals have been made, and only one (or two) can backset
One (Link) or Two (Link and Zelda)
The rampage of he who would corrupt the planet.
Methinks that screams Ganondorf too.

Yet the first key to his destruction lies within his master's domain.

Now sounds like Zant, as the key to his destruction is Link.
It holds ancient power, but is no cane
The Master Sword?
It's raison d'etre fails but in one example
No idea.
To expose evil's reflection, it will be ample
Dark Mirror? Shiny, reflection of the Master Sword?

It's like there are multiple answers. Ganondorf, Zant and the Master Sword being my top three. Hope this guy gets round to the answer sometime soon...

S-P-O-I-L-E-R

Could you be referring to the mirror of twilight? I didn't really get a question out of that riddle, but I'll give a shot at essplaining what this (maybe) has to do with the mirror.

1st-2nd line: Another page in an ongoing history. The Twili have been trapped in the Twilight Realm for generations and have seen no sight or hope of retribution or salvation from their macabre existence. The Twili can only hope that the mirror was meant as a means for an end to it all; a link to the outside world to which they are tied.

3rd-4th line: The deluded Zant took Ganondorf as his God and overthrew Midna, his Queen. Link and Midna are destined to defeat Ganon and Zant together.

5th line: Only the true ruler of the Twili can destroy it (the mirror).

6th-7th line: It was originally intended to imprison wielders of a great, evil magic (the Twili are the descendants of these people), but failed to contain the awesome power (with that of the triforce of power -- yes he still had it then) of Ganondorf.

Line 8: The mirror of Twilight was the final link used to depose and finally defeat "king" Zant.

Good guess, or right answer?

(I think my history is pretty accurate, it's all from in-game stuff. Feel free to correct me *nicely* tho.)

My guess is that the riddle is about the master sword.
Is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
In a middleman's world, there's just no telling.
Dark deals have been made, and only one (or two) can backset
The rampage of he who would corrupt the planet.

Yet the first key to his destruction lies within his master's domain.
It holds ancient tpower, but is no cane
It's raison d'etre fails but in one example
To expose evil's reflection, it will be ample

The first four lines is just a backstory that places the scene. The last four is the true riddle. Is that not so?

The key - The Master Sword - lies lies within his master's - Link's - domain
It holds ancient power, but is no cane. (no.. it's a sword)
It's raison d'etre (to be/exist) fails but in one example. It's made to defeat Ganondorf/Ganon. Nothing else.
To expose evil's reflection, it will be ample. It cut through the spell(reflection?) Zant put on Link.

That's my view..

You know, in going over all this this is all very nice, but what would be even nicer is our riddle host, silverwarrior9, stepping forward and letting us in on the intended meaning of these lines...

He's not logged in since the riddle.
He's probably been killed by EA or TSA. Or was it you?
It's the new Da Vinci code.

We must embrace us for a quest to find the holy bottle. Only then will the riddle be clear.
