So who has played it? I think its an awsome game, I thought I wouldn't like it because of the new battle system but I was wrong to judge it.

I have it..and man..is it hard. I'm at one point, where it's impossible for me to get by as I am. plus saving is so limited, I barely have no items, so battling and such against the enemies I'm at to level up is a problem.

So yeah..i sadly will probably have to start all over..I'm not too terirbly far into the game, but having to now is still annoying.

i think I'll jsut start over, to better prepare for these areas.

I played it with my cusin, I have to say, I'm very dissapointed... I'd be a great game if:
1) It had a better soundtrack
2) They could work on the camera some more
3) They also need to work out some of those ridiculous outfits....

Other than that it's a great game, the battle system's cool and it's very challenging. Too bad I won't be able to finish it...

My cousin got the game. But I haven't played it yet. I hope I'm able to get a chance to borrow it from him later.

You have to do a lot of leveling up to be on par with the game's standards for each point in the story. Just when I think I'm sitting pretty with Vaan at Lv7, the game drops Lv8 Balthier and Fran on me, and then Lv9 Ashe--err . . . Amalia.

The soundtrack is tolerable, but easily forgettable. I find it interesting that they totally ripped off FFIV's intro theme for this game, too.

Really. That had to be the least memorable Last Battle track I've ever heard.

Actually FF IV's intro theme is actually the whole Final Fantasy's series theme. Its known as the crystal theme. That song in some form is in every final fantasy game.

The game so far is really good. The graphics are just incredible in all ways, I am seriously impressed. Though I have been less impressed by the FMVs, that I have been with previous games. Not a big deal though...

The story is really good so far but I feel Ive only scratched the surface (only 12 horus in). As for the battle system its ok, I prefer turnbased... But I do like the no random battles which has become a norm for RPGs now. The game is challenging which is the first time a FF has even remotely challenged me sing FF IV. I also like the roots and its retro style FF feel.

I havent been as impressed as I was with X yet but overall the game is amazing. The music isnt that great IMO, but its not bad either. The voice acting is superb though.

I thought the crystal theme was the one in the first game.  On the More Friends CD, there's an orchestral version of it, it's also at the tail end of the FF VI credits, lovely theme too.

No, I'm not talking about the Crystal theme. It's that one theme that starts about halfway into the intro movie and climaxes right when the title screen/logo first appears.

Or if you skip the whole title sequence, it's the theme that plays while you're selecting what save to load. I first heard that theme in FFIV, and have not heard it any FF since.

My sister got the game and she seems to like it a lot. I'm afraid, looking from my previous experiences with Final Fantasies, once I start playing it I won't have a life for a long time. That's why I'm waiting for Winter Break before I start playing the game.

Well as far as I can remember the crystal theme has been in every Final Fatasy game. I know it was in I-V. I am almost 100% positive it was in VI, but Im not sure about VIII (I think it showed up though). Its for sure been in VII, IX, X, and XII (never palyed XI).

The only games that I believe it may not have shown up in is VIII and X-2. But I think I remember it in VIII at one point.

I'm referring to this theme:

http://vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/finalfant2.mid

It's called "Final Fantasy" on the more friends CD even though it only appears a few times in the series, including in XII apperently. It's also at the very end of Final Fantasy VI

The song actually titled FF is in almost every game as well. So much music in the series is reused and remixed though thats its sometimes hard to tell. I still say that FF VIII and X have the best soundtracks followed by VI and IX.

I really love VI's the best, Terra's Theme, The Dream Oath, and the boss themes are really some of the best pieces of work by Uematsu, there's an operatic version of the Dream Oath with English lyrics on the More Friend's CD as well as Terra's theme so it's pretty cool, I wish I had the Dear Friends CD. :-/

FF12 is really good and is NOT difficult.  It is only difficult if you don't spend your LP wisely in order to get augments and equipment abilities.  LP is MUCH more important than your level in this game. Also, equipment makes more of an impact than anything, which is related to how you spend your LP.

Money comes easily, especially if you chain monsters really high, which you will be doing regardless since you want LP and loot.  Selling certain combinations of loot will open up items that are one of a kind or allow you access to them way before they are available otherwise.

Music is good, not great.  Voice acting, however, is superb.  I've not heard VO's this well done since Dragon Quest VIII.

I hear there's no corny love story in this game, WHAT KIND OF HERESY IS THIS?  And no random battles?  What's Final Fantasy coming to?  Innovation and change?  Gah, if there was one thing I used to be able to count on it was Final Fantasy's cookie-cutter gameplay and stories; alas, now even that's not a sure thing.

Anyway, this marks the first time Xplay has given a Final Fantasy game a perfect 5, however the series has gone through several various incarnations over the years including time as Gamespot TV and Extended Play, and during those times, I believe they may have reviewed Final Fantasy IX-XI, but I could be wrong about IX...

The Crystal Theme is actually titled 'Prelude', and the first link is titled 'Prologue'.

I've taken a break from FFXII, I'll probably play it again this weekend, seeing as there's nothing to do on Xbox Live.
