Bull Crap!
This Skull Kid cannot be MM's Skull Kid. Why?  Because it is hundreds of years after MM AND there are many many Skull Kids.  Unless Skull Kid from MM was cursed to protect the Sacred Forest in order to pay a debt after causing so much damage...But that is very unlikely.

That little theory doesn't sound half-bad...

Only the Four Giants did forgive the Skull Kid, so I doubt he'd have to pay any debts.

As much as I'd like for the Skull Kid to be the same - it's always nice to be able to map already existing characters/tribes onto new ones - we shouldn't try to push it too much. There are many aspects reminiscent of previous games, and this is true for all Zelda games. Recurring elements doesn't mean it's all exactly the same, just similar. It was a great setup to have 'a' Skull Kid is guardian of the Sacred Grove anyhow.

Link in TP isn't the Hero of Time, he's more likely to be a descendant of him. But it's rather a nice theory how this Skullkid could be the same as the one from OoT/MM. I don't think he is though, just for the fact that he has a trumpet instead of a flute and he looks kind of different.

I'll worry about who this skull kid is after I figure out how the ToT got into the Sacred Woods.

Because of course he would NEVER have been able to trade his flute in for a nice-looking trumpet, or attend Extreme-Makeover...

He is what he is though: A Skull Kid. There were a few of them in OoT, so it's just 'a' Skull Kid. I wouldn't dare suggest he's a descendant of "the" Skull Kid, cause that just sounds lame and farfetch'd. Why can't we just except it's a nice reference Nintendo put in there under the guise of a recurring character?

You know.... skull kids where children who got lost in the woods... they probably died. So they *could* live forever. I'm not saying that is "the one" but probably a very old one.

Exactly what I was thinking! It's not unusual of Nintendo to put characters from previous games into new ones. It's what they do. Maybe even too much but it's still always nice to see familiar faces and names. I think that's what makes Zelda, er, Zelda.

That would be quite a coincidence. I believe he lead Link purposefully to the Master Sword. Why else would he have appeared only after you played, sorry howled Zelda's Lullaby?

Of course he led Link there purposefully.  It's what he says, too, that he "will show Link into a secret spot".  That means he must have at least some idea of what the Sacred Grove is, and what it's purpose is.  It wouldn't be cool if he let everyone in who shot him with a bow   He must've known about the Hero garbed in green.  I say he's a protector of the Sacred Grove.

Not neccecery a protector, bot probably aware of the legend, the hero and the Master Sword. Just a boy who wants someone to play with.

Keep in mind the fact that he knows Saria's Song and that his face is similar to the moon in Majora's Mask.

seriously? I never noticed that. It could just be a matter of a stylistic contribution, but it's still cool to think about.
