That's never good for nintendo. It means we will go another year before we see anymore hits. They may delay one or more of those games for that reason, but there's also other franchises to consider, like Mario Kart, Zelda, Pokemon, and other IPs, and I think that if the Wii continues its gravy train for success, 3rd parties will be more willing to delver content for the system. Let's hope so huh? And yes, it kinda sucks that "the best of the big N" are bound to come out at the same time. But then when we'll be having our hands on Galaxy, Brawl and/or Corruption, I think we're really not gonna be complaining for some time...

I don't see the Wii as lacking; the reason that I haven't bought any games for it since Christmas has been because my wallet is lacking. Had I the money, I'd definitely buy Elebits, Super Paper Mario, Wario Ware Smooth Moves, and many Virtual Console Games. That's almost as many console games as I usually buy in one year (my GCN average was 5 games/year until 2005). In addition, I've rented several that I've enjoyed, and there are many that I plan to try out when I get a chance. It's true that there are no AAA epics out yet, but they're coming, and the ones that fall into the "Pretty Good" category can tide me over until then.
I agree with Jordan about Friendcodes, too. They are silly, in my opinion, but it doesn't bother me too badly, as I don't crave all of these bells and whistles of online gaming that I never use in the PC realm, either. I'm more of a singleplayer gamer, too, so that could be part of it.

Imagine you have to ask around for a specific code FOR EACH GAME in order to play Call Of Duty, World Of Warcraft, Battlefield 2, heck, any FPs, MMO or RTS game on the PC. EDIT: That's reminds me. With Nintendo's vision right now on Online Gaming, we won't see any MMORPG on the Wii I reckon.

I usually just play with people randomly on the PC, and friend codes don't restrict doing that. I do agree that Mario Kart and Star Fox Command were annoying to play online with people, though, but Metroid Prime Hunters was pretty good. If they could get most games to be like that, then I'd be satisfied.

No MMORPG on Wii? Oh what a shame...
Those things are amazingly overhyped IMO. The fact people keep suggesting a Zelda MMORPG stings like hell, but I don't see why Nintendo need any form of said genre at all. The Wii is a console more about physically getting up and swinging wildly to get into the action. MMORPG's have a reputation that goes completely against that idea.
Hopefully by the next gen they'll be old news so we won't have to worry about them...

That's a big if, EA... Way I see it, MMORPG's will dominate gaming industry for many years to come... But then I wasn't really talking console games, and especially not the Wii. Like you said, I don't really see much reason for any MMORPG's to be released for the Wii. Some "normal" RPG's would be fine... *coughs* Golden Sun! *coughs*

MMOs on the PC are big, but not on consoles, and MMOs are possible on the Wii, but most likely it'd be on a different network than the Nintendo/Gamespy one.

I hate to burst your bubble but MMORPGs are getting bigger and bigger. At any rate, MMORPGs will attract many gamers if done right.

MMOs are the way of the future...they haven't even reached their full potential yet. Imagine full scale armys in a giant virtual war all fighting on the battle field at the same time. Thousands of players vs thousands of players with a variety of weapons and vehicles fighting one battle in an entire war. Imagine entire communities changing depending on which side of the war is winning. Or imagine playing a spore like game except one that is actually an MMO where players interact with each other's creatures and planets. I think as bandwidth becomes cheaper and internet connections become faster and storage space gets bigger and processors get faster we will see more in depth MMOs being produced.

It's a soon to be realized dream. Already there is an MMO in the making for the xbox 360 that has 100 VS 100 battles.

What's driving me crazy, and this is a grammatical thing, is people say "Nintendo are going to do something", or whatever company you may chose. If you're American, there's no reason for you to do this, ever. Nintendo's antecedent verb would be singular because a collective noun is singular. The only exception would be if you're British, you can get away with saying "Nintendo are debating amongst themselves" would signify that memebers within Nintendo are debating. However if you're American, you'd have to specify which members of Nintendo, for example, "Nintendo's executives are debating amongst themselves."
Now if you want to say "Nintendo are going to attend E3" or "Nintendo are going to develop a new game", if you're British, I guess it works because you're talking to certain sects within Nintendo, but if you're American, that's a no-no, either specify which parts of Nintendo will be attending E3 or just use the singular. Thanks.

Isn't that discriminating against the UK & Europe people (like myself)?
I'm afraid that you will have to do with knowing who around here is from the UK / Europe so you know the collective use of such nouns and their accompanying verbs are not ungrammatical.
Basically it's the same as people getting worked up over color VS colour and center VS centre. I'll be the first to testify that there is no unified version of English. It's all different sub-languages. So I guess we would do well to make abstraction of certain low-level differences like spelling issues... Grammatical issues are usually a little bit more "sensitive", or so it would appear... We're not here to annoy you, JA ^^

JA, you're talking bullshit.
Also, as we're on the rant tour anyway, would everyone just stop seperating the UK and Europe? I really hate it when (especially Americans) generalise Europe with the UK or seperate the two and act like their two seperate continents.
Europe is a unified continent which the UK is a part of period.

Rant noted. I separated them because the UK is the cradle of the English language. That, and they're an isle. Honestly though, Europe is an amalgation of countries who DON'T have English as their first language, except for the UK. Go ahead and smack that dirty (but meaningless) counter-proof in my face, I dare you.

JA, you're talking bullshit. I'm just trying to give a heads up to my fellow US citizens about the proper use of English, besides "[Insert unified entity here] are" just doesn't flow well. As for your rant about Europe, I think most people realize that the UK isn't all of Europe, at least I hope so. But we in the US face a dilemma of a similar nature. We're the United States of America, a country in North America, so when people refer to America, they tend to refer to the United States, even though there are TWO American continents, north and south made up of a ton of countries including Canada, Mexico, the countries in Central America, the Caribbean Isles, Brazil, Argenta, etc. Uh, but as far as games go, The Sims for Wii, or My Sims looks pretty nifty, things are a lot more modular, or so it would seem, and customizable, I'm looking forward to it.

So yeah, interesting story. I've owned Final Fantasy VI (in the form of FFIII for SNES) for nearly eight years, now. I loved the game and played it to death back in the day. Thing is, I would always get bored and lose interest in the game once there was nothing more to do but level up for the final boss. I'd manage to gain a few levels with a few characters, but I realized that it would take forever to get to my desired levels, so I got bored and moved onto other games, always intending to come back and finish FFVI sometime. I'd even start a new save, get back to that same point, and give up.
Well, I must be the worst procrastinator in the world. Years passed, and I kept telling myself: "I'll finish it, sometime," but it never happened. I still loved the game and remembered it fondly, but I couldn't ever make myself finish it.
So then FFVI Advance came out, and I told myself: "This time, I'm gonna finish it." And today . . . I finally did. And in retrospect, it really wasn't that hard. Most of my characters were slightly above 60 (Locke being at 70), and I used some tactics and items that I wasn't aware existed in the game all those years ago. Because it's the Advance version, there's extra shit to do even after you beat the game, so I'll probably go do that. And then I'll probably go dust off that SNES version, pick up my original, near-end game save, and beat that, too.
So . . . that's my heartwarming story.
Hehe, yeah, like UNILIMITED Atma/Ultima Weapons, UNLIMITED Illiuminas/Lightbringers FTW
