No. The PS3 sucks. You can go buy a 360 and a Wii (if you can find a Wii I mean where the hell did they go?) for the price of a PS3 and a game. Also Uchiha your talk about the cutting prices and taking a hit for the customer is a load of crap and any respect I had for you died there. Plus can someone tell me one original RPG coming out for the PS3? You RPG's? Buy a PS2 there is more crappy RPG's on there than you can shake a stick at. You want innovation and party games get a Wii. Now for the 360... Well TPS's are there I.E. GoW and LP.

In the end the two bests systems are Wii and 360 (I'm leaning more towards a 360) and I don't even think a PS3 is worth it even for Blu Ray. I'll go buy a DVD or an HDVD because it is cheaper and can play on my family's laptop which we just hook to our TV. Nothing good for a PS3.

No. The PS3 sucks.

*Sighs* And people wonder why I don't like fanboys...As amusing as ignorance can be sometimes...I thought the post was hostile enough to earn a response from me (from my hotel in Florida nonetheless).

You can go buy a 360 and a Wii (if you can find a Wii I mean where the hell did they go?) for the price of a PS3 and a game

Yup, the price of the system is a concern, obviously. But the question wasn't "can a PS3 supplement for Wii60" or "is the PS3 as good as a 600 dollar alternative". Rather, it was simply asking whether the PS3 is worth the money. Games like FFXIII, White Knight Story, FF vs. 13, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Lair, Warhawk, MGS4, Killzone PS3, Tekken 6, and Heavenly Sword look like good games. I think (based on excellent past experiences with the developers/franchises) that they'll be great games. Whether the games and BluRay make for a 600 dollar machine is entirely upon the individual. But saying "zomg Ps3 sux, wii pwnzors" just seems asanine to me.

Also Uchiha your talk about the cutting prices and taking a hit for the customers is a load of crap
How is it a load of crap? The next time you make a generalization, at least back it up.The companies today are making a conscious effort to make their products affordable to to the masses. If they don't make their prices affordable, their products don't sell. For their products to sell, Sony and Microsoft are taking hits for their customers, in order to make their products appealing in terms of price. I know it's such a revolutionary concept. It's not like it has been happening for years in the industry.  . In the case of the wii, Nintendo doesn't need to take a hit, because it's already "affordable'. Hopefully, you see the difference.

If the companies don't cater to the consumers, they fail. Look at every high priced console ever produced (including the Ps3). High priced consoles come attached with stagnant and/or  nonexistant sales. Most of the console makers didn't take a hit for the consumers. In the case of Sony, they didn't take enough of a hit. But that doesn't mean they aren't taking a hit for the customer. Again, whether or not Sony has taken enough of a hit is a personal matter.

So again, please tell me how my assertions about Microsoft and Sony (or any other company taking a hit for tat matter) is a load of crap. I'll be interested to see what you have to say.

any respect I had for you died there
Lol? How's that? Because I like Sony/Microsoft on a pro-Nintendo forum? Or because of my previous assertion that's a cold fact? Either way I lost all respect for you as well- Oh wait...I never had any. Needless to say, you've touched a nerve there.

Plus can someone tell me one original RPG coming out for the PS3?
One? Okay. White Knight Story. I win.

Buy a PS2 there is more crappy RPG's on there than you can shake a stick at
LMAO! Ps2 had the greatest library of any system since the SNES. It may have had the most crap RPGS (even this I don't believe though), but  that's probobly due to the ENORMOUS library it had. The Ps2 won the RPG race last generation. Most people on this board argue that the GCN's best was ToS...and that was multiplatform!!!With more features on the PS2 version! I'm sorry, but that just sounds like a BS statement you (a  nintendo fan no doubt)made to bash Sony. But whatever, maybe you actually enjoyed some GCN RPGs better. Who's to say besides you?

You want innovation and party games get a Wii
Agreed

Now for the 360... Well TPS's are there I.E. GoW and LP
Agreed

^Needless to say, I agree with you on the above statements. However, unlike you (presumedly) I believe Sony will find it's own niche in the future. Already (look at the games mentioned above as well as the countless multiplatforms) the Ps3 has a variety of games from different genres. If the Sixaxis is implemented as something other than a gimmick (i.e. Lair and well...nothing else to date) then the Ps3 can add a touch of innovation to compliment their game variety. That's not to say it will rival the Wiimote's functionality...but it can still be cool.

In the end the two bests systems are Wii and 360 (I'm leaning more towards a 360)

Personal opinion. As a strong PSWii60 advocate, I think that presently 360>>>>>>>>Wii=PS3. In the future I think that it will be pretty equal amongst all the systems. Nintendo and Sony just need to get their AAA titles out as soon as possible. But again, that's just personal opinion. We'll see how things work out in the end (hopefully well for all 3 companies).

and I don't even think a PS3 is worth it even for Blu Ray
I beg to differ. But again, we're delving into the realm of opinions.

I'll go buy a DVD or an HDVD because it is cheaper and can play on my family's laptop which we just hook to our TV.

I don't blame you. That'd be a smarter pruchase based on what's available to you. Although I'm afraid for HDDVD and it's losing battle aainst Bluray (although I don't think either format is that impressive).

Nothing good for a PS3.
I lol'd

Is it worth $600? Yes, a michine of that magnitude is indeed worth $600 dollars. Would I buy it? No, I mean c'mon people look at this logically, who has $600 to spend on a game system? I think that if you're rich and want something fun, get a PS3, but if you're not rich and you despratly save every penny you get just to buy this, I think it's a waste of time and money. Seriously, Sony should have cracked down a little, they went a little too far to please fans, the result? a $600 dollar game system.

That assessment is completely wrong.
The Playstation 3 costs so much because of the Blu-ray player inside it. Otherwise the system is comparible with the Xbox 360. Sony didn't include Blu-ray for the fans either. They did it to try and push their format onto the consumer.

Uchi, don't ever go into business yourself. You'd die within a week. Sony is a business, and until now had been a profitable one. Their gaming division reported a $2 Billion dollar loss the other week. That's a pretty whacking great hit to try and please the consumer.

That is why your talk of cutting prices is a load of crap. Sony have "taken the hit" and it hasn't paid off. They could take another, sure, but they're going to slip deeper and deeper down a muddy pit where in the end they should just hand out the consoles for free and pray their ever dwindling library of exclusives might get them through.

Dear All Who Are Praising The PS3 As A Cheap Blu Ray Player.

Newsflash

"The Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray player has been dropped $100 in price to $499, putting it below the price of the PlayStation 3."

Uchi you read my post I'm honored. In case you didn't know I come here when I'm bored also because comics like the one above just describe Sony so well. I'd say I'm sorry for insulting you buuuuut... I'm not.
However I'm not going to deny the fact the PS2 had the best RPG's buuut they also had the worst RPG's.

Oh I'm no Nintendo fanboy I like Microsoft more because of their games I.E. Halo, Oblivion, GoW, LP, and Dead Rising which I can always get a laugh from. Plus I do like the PS2 and at one point in my life owned the PS1 and 2. But Don't have them anymore. Meh and FF is overated sometimes.

In the end no. The PS3 is probably the worst deal ever. However if you have a lot of money go nuts and have fun. But me I'll spend it on the only system I want right now the 360. And because my Bro is getting a Wii I don't need to worry about that. But Uchi I'll give you a formal apology if the PS3 out sells the DS.

The DS is the fastest selling gaming device in history...
It has already smashed the records set by the PS2. Be more reasonable: you say the Xbox360 is so great, give him that formal apology (I expect letter in the post) if the PS3 outsells the Xbox360. You know, that system that's selling like trash and nobody gives a damn about outside of the US.

I'm at this horrible point in my life where I want all three and a gaming PC... but really, I'm just going to keep coming back to my DS - the best system ever made.

Well...I finally got around to playing a PS3. I played a demo of Virtua Fighter 5. Gotta admit, its a pretty impressive system. The graphics were great with the HD and the controls seemed pretty tight. The game played smoothly too.

But...not really worth $600+. I wouldn't mind owning one...but I do mind giving up that amount of money for it. So if I were to recieve it as a suprise birthday or Christmas gift (which is...very not likely), I wouldn't turn it down.

But i ain't paying that much for it.

The reason why I chose the DS is because I love it. So if Sony out sold it that would crush my dreams. BTW how do you expect me to know the DS is selling so well i thought the 360 has sold more.

Is the PS3 worth it, IMO? Not right now. Not until the real exclusives come out (God of War III is a sure bet for exclusivity; FFXIII and MSG4 not so much...) and the price takes at least a $200 cut. If those three games would come out on PS3 exclusively along with some significant price cut, than a purchase would be justified by me. Otherwise, God of War III alone isn't going to make me plunk down for a PS3.

But on the other hand, 360 is still uncertain for me. There's more and more stories out there about 360s dying left and right for no reason, and I don't want to be left in the cold should my 360 just happen to die after the warranty ends. Also, there are still very few exclusive games that interest me. I don't have a hard-on for Halo 3 or Gears of War, and most everything else on the system just seems so generic and uninspired.

Dead Rising looked fun as hell, though, from what I saw.

Well, sources tell me that by next year, the the price of the PS3 will drop.

Yes, you heard me. Drop.

A whole...ready for this...?

A whopping...

$50! And, to make this price drop ever so possible, they will remove the backwards compatability functions.

So now PS3 will only be slightly too much money instead of way too much money.

Yaaaayyyyy.....

you can see the sarcasm, right?

Although I am wary of your sources, I'm gonna dive right in as it's been a while...

Paying less... For less... Oh what a bargain that smells like... There be my sarcasm for the night.

What a screw up. And a total kick in the face for PS fans, since Kutaragi was banging on from day one about the PS3 being backwards compatible with all games from Day One.

Will it be worth it at $50 less? Nope. Because you're losing a key feature which actually led to the possibility of you playing some games.

Less you by one now and get the Backwards Compatibility which I heard doesn't work too well. But you could also get their Mii copy thing. <-- I like that sign. Spam meat in a can.

But maybe they might get lucky and get one really good exclusive game. But that still isn't worth $600 for a system to play one good game.

Take my advice save the money for an emergency or a new car.
