Back again with the "series" of "perfect" timeline threads.

We can see that some games have an existing prophecy to point to a hero rising and being the savior of Hyrule (or some other land) while other games do not.  LoZ does not have a prophecy but AoL did.  The Hero was destined to reunite the triforce and restore the kingdom, and it's pretty obvious who made the prophecy in this instance.  ALttP has a prophecy about a Legendary Hero that will save Hyrule on Cataclysm's Eve.  This prophecy is pretty mysterious but it's assumed that the ancient wisemen/sages first revealed it after the IW.  OoT does have a prophecy about the Hero of Time, and it's assumed that an even older generation of sages (including Rauru) set things up for this prophecy.  Even MM had a prophecy about someone coming to save termina.  The oracles don't seem to have any prophecies but Link travelling back 400 years to labrynna's past causes some interesting effects.  TWW doesn't have a prophecy per say, but there's a few people/beings that have been waiting/hoping for the HoT's return.

The FS games don't seem to have any prophecies about the hero beyond that if Vaati escapes someone must take the FS and defeat him again.  FSA has a dark prophecy that pertains to Ganon and the Trident of Power, but it's unknown who set that up for him.  TMC does not have a prophecy at all, only a mention of a previous hero in the BS.  TP has a prophecy about a sublime beast saving the TR, as if there were a previous Hero that took the form of a beast.

So, what does all this mean?  Usually when there's a prophecy it means that there's a Prophet or Prophets that reveal it.  These Prophecies usually pertain to the appearance of a hero and his defeat of a great evil to avert a disaster.  These Prophecies seem to echo previous appearances of the hero in their tellings.  ALttP states that the Hero must hold the BoM in the Desert, and that he must collect 3 items of Courage, Power and Wisdom and pull the MS from it's resting place.  This echoes OoT where the Door of Time is locked and the hero needs the  three spiritual stones in order to pull the MS and open the door.  In fact the events of OoT were originally meant to be the basis for the prophecy in ALttP, but later games may have messed this up a bit.  Anyway, there seems to be a pattern where one game with a prophecy of a hero points to an earlier appearance of the hero.  AoL doens't really fit this pattern, but it's understood that the old king was the one who created the prophecy to keep the ToC safe.  TMC, however, states that there was a hero, but there's no prophecy other than the appearance of the minish every 100 years during the annual festival.  perhaps this then is an indication that TMC is a very early tale and may be the origin of a later prophecy.  TMC obviously takes place before FS and FSA and is possibly the basis for the BS and prophecy of those games.  We still do not know if there was an appearance by a hero before OoT or why the Hero was called the HoT before the events of OoT.  Was there a previous time travelling hero that opened or even created the Door of Time?

Well, ok, maybe I don't have a timeline yet for this thread, but that shouldn't stop you guys from coming up with something!  Enjoy!
