As some of you know from another thread, I'm having a hell of a time obtaining those last remaining Rings. There's one in particular I want to call attention to, the Light Ring L-2. All the walkthrus I could find tell me I can win it at the target shooting game in Lynna Village (past). But I've played that game over and over again, winning at 350+, and the only Rings I get are ****ing duplicates. Do I have to get a super high score or something, like a 500?
Also, there are supposedly Rings that appear at random, whether from Maple or a Gasha Nut, but I only seem to ever get duplicates from either anymore. I list below the ones I have yet to receive, even though they're supposedly in Oracle of Ages. Is there a certain place where I'm supposed to challenge Maple? Or do I have to bump into her from a certain angle (e.g. from behind)? Or a certain Gasha planting site that more usually yields the rarer Rings? Or is the game going to wait until after I have the 100th Ring to quit giving me so many d***ed duplicates? Or are they easier to come by in Oracle of Seasons (which I haven't gotten to yet)? Somebody please help me! I'm tired of the randomness of this game and wish it tested more your skill than luck. Well, enough ranting--here are the Rings I can't get to save my life:
10. Green Ring 11. Cursed Ring 12. Expert's Ring 23. Charge Ring 42. Rang Ring L-2 44. Moblin Ring 47. First Gen Ring 49. Bombproof Ring 59. Gasha Ring 62. Fist Ring

Join the club. Most of the ones you've listed I still need as well. Jumping to your aid, first check out this site. It tells you which rings are exclusive to OoS or OoA. I've found that I had most rings in Seasons, while there were still a great many from OoA I didn't have yet. And why could that be? I'll tell you. 1) Forget Maple. If you've activated Maple's ring and kept on killing enemies until she appeared again, you're not that likely to get any more new rings out of her. Better move on to 2). 2) You get rarer stuff [: rings] when you plant Gasha seeds IN RARE PLACES. This means that, of all the places you can plant Gasha Seeds, some really increase your chances of getting new rings. So don't bother planting any more seeds near the town/city area, they're not really likely to get you any new ones. Instead, work with the trees you wouldn't otherwise come near to to plant a seed. There are quite a few in Ages, both in the present and in the past. There are some pics or guides with schemes in them at which screens in OoA you can find places to plant Gasha Seeds. I don't think I have that list at the ready, but just try GameFAQ's, one of the guides definitely has that info. 3) When you have it, activate the Gasha Ring. It will allow you to "grow greater Gasha Trees". Faster and rarer, I'd say... 4) When you're all set, plant seeds in those rare places and start travelling around killing lots of enemies, it's said to help. 5) In Seasons, and I have witnessed this myself, you get different Rings when you check a fully grown Gasha Tree in a different season... It is best to save before getting it, and if you have the ring already just reset and go change the season, and come back... That's about it. I've also read you grow better trees if you engage in trading, but you can only do the trading sequence once, so I found that to be a stupid thing to say. I'm willing to dismiss that little extra stimulant. As I still have to go through all of that again to get those final ones in Ages myself, I dearly sympathise... Do fill us (read: me) in on your progress!!! And good luck

Sad to say this but you do get them at random and the only way to get them is to keep trying it toke me almost a year to get those ones but for some wired reason all I get now are maple rings and cursed rings (which are pointless by the way) now that I think about it all those rings are pointless except maybe the Gasha Ring

Nope, didn't work. Well, of course it did at first. But then when I tried it again, nope. I might as well have just been chasing Maple like I've been doing all this week. But that's right, I had 5 Gasha Seeds, planted them in the most obscure corners of the overworld. Then I went all the way up the Black Tower and back killing enemies. The first time I did this, 4 out of the 5 were duplicates, so when I went to do it the second time, I knew I could at least count on one new Ring. Nope. All 5 were fucking duplicates!! An entire hour of my life wasted. A whole fucking hour. And not an inch of progress to show for it. I swear, I f***ing hate this game.

It will take more than one hour I'm afraid...
Ugh, it's not a sidequest I'm eager to complete either. I can imagine myself waking up, start playing Ages, and still not having 'Em All by the end of the day...
I think my precious GBC might end up smashed to bits then. Lousy randomness.

Another problem I have is with Goron Dancing. So much memorization (on the higher skill levels) and razor-sharp tempo timing. And I personally have never been musically inclined, for I have no sense of rhythm. So I really suck at that game--the prize for which is one of the Rings (Bomber's Ring, I think?). So if anyone has any tips, strategies, or even cheats for this minigame, I'd be much obliged.
Nevertheless, at least it's a challenge (even if not the most enjoyable or rewarding one) and not random chance!

I remember, I spent a lot of time getting all 64 rings. But it was worth it, definitely the most challenging side quest in a Zelda game ever. And combined with the Hero's Secret, you can start a game file with all 64 rings from the beginning, which is one nice start. Well, I try to help you: Green Ring, Expert's Ring, Rang Ring L-2, etc.: I got most of the rare rings in Ages, planting a tree in the Zora Village soil patch or the soil patch in the field south of the one eyed Tokay Statue (past). Always use locations in areas from the later parts of the game or which are hard to find. Kill at least 250 - 300 enemies before picking up the Gasha Nut. Do not use the Gasha Ring! However, it helps you growing Gasha Trees much faster, but every time I used it, I only got duplicates. (But this was my experience, it's unknown how this ring really works...) Maple won't help you getting rare random rings, so don't waste any time on her. And I got the experience, that it's better to plant only one tree and go smashing enemies instead of planting like 6 trees at once and doing the same... But in the end I planted a lot of trees in any possible location. This sidequest sure takes a lot of time and patience. However, some rings from your list can be found unrandomly: 44. Moblin Ring: In Seasons, one screen to the east from Snake's Remains there is a cave behind mushrooms. Change season to Autumn, enter the cave and use the Magnetic Gloves to reach the chest. Inside the chest you'll find this ring. 49. Bombproof Ring: Ages, Goron Dance Minigame. In the Present you have to score Gold or Perfect. (I know, this won't help you at all ^^). 62. Fist Ring: In Seasons, you can dig this up in the dirt patch found one screen to the west where you found the Blue Ore. The Bomber's Ring is the hardest to get, for real. I HATE this minigame, it's not even musically, it's just annoying... To be honest, I never really received this ring, I got it accidently by typing in an incorrect ring password, which was working though. This was one lucky day. You can say, I was cheating for this one, but I don't mind, because this minigame really killed my nerves. Maybe you should try modifying your password, too. XD

I don't remember getting the Bomber's Ring myself, but I'm relatively sure as I once made a list which only had the random ones on it...
Great advice up there, Fierce! I mostly used the Gasha Ring to grow "bigger Gasha trees", but I'll abstain from that in the future!
And I kinda figured it might be counterproductive to have multiple trees growing at the same time, but then if you have to like get 7 more rings you don't want to be at it for days on end...
But I see this working. Just plant 2 or 3 tops, in rare spots, kill at least 300 enemies and pray to the Gods!
Will definitely get back to this. Completion's sake!

I don't remember getting the Bomber's Ring myself, but I'm relatively sure as I once made a list which only had the random ones on it... The Bomber's Ring can only be obtained in the infamous Goron Dance Minigame. This is the only place. No random access or other locations for this one... Great advice up there, Fierce! I mostly used the Gasha Ring to grow "bigger Gasha trees", but I'll abstain from that in the future! Like I said, this was my experience. So don't beat me, if you're not getting postive results doing so. But I got all the good rings without the Gasha Ring, so give it a try. And I kinda figured it might be counterproductive to have multiple trees growing at the same time, but then if you have to like get 7 more rings you don't want to be at it for days on end... By getting the Green Ring, Expert's Ring, and so on I had only one tree planted at once. So, if you can't get the big ones with several trees growing at the same time, try this tactic.

Well, now that I'm (almost) done playing through Seasons, I can update my missing Ring list (as far as those that occur randomly in either game go):
10. Green Ring (O how I wish this one wasn't on the list anymore!) 12. Expert's Ring 23. Charge Ring 47. First Gen Ring 59. Gasha Ring
That's only 5 left (not including others that are attainable only through very specific means, like e.g. the infamous Goron Dancing Bomber's Ring). Fierce, thanks for the tips for obtaining these! I'll have to try them out. Unfortunately, just before I saw your advice, I went and planted 6 Gasha Seeds that are currently gestating (or at least will be when I turn the game back on). If I can just get the Green Ring for that final battle with Ganon, that'd be awesome.
And I'm really not looking forward to going after that Bomber's Ring. =/

I've learned some things about these Oracle games since this thread was initially played. For one thing, the Green Ring. This is my second playthrough of the Oracle series, and guess when that I finally obtained that Green Ring both times? After defeating Ganon. In fact, in both cases, it was one of the very next Gasha Nuts I cut that gave me the Green Ring. I like to think of it as the game producers enjoying a prank at the gamer's expense. Also, it appears that the score of 400 even may be the sweet spot that nets you the Light Ring L-2 in the Lynna Village Target Practice. Otherwise, the rings you get end up being duplicates. Er, still any tips that anyone can offer on Goron dancing would be much appreciated. That game still kicks my ass. As for the randomized rings, the only two I have left to obtain now are the Rang Ring L-2 and Energy Ring.

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMFG!!!! I finally, after so much sweat, toil, and tears FINALLY scored a perfect on Gold for Goron Dancing--and the ring it gave me was f***ing duplicate!!! (Bombproof Ring, which I already had from either Maple or a Gasha.) How the hell do I get the *BOMBER'S* Ring??? Was I supposed to do the Goron Dance thing in the past?? And please, O God, please don't tell me I have to score perfect on PLATINUM in order to do that!! I'm not normally like this, but this game just has me so f***ing frazzled. I HATE ORACLE OF AGES!!!!! But I'm too g**da** stubborn not to collect all the rings now, especially since I've come SO far.
Somebody please help!!! (And sorry for the double post!)

Congratulations, and yet... ... I'm afraid the Platinum will only get you that ring, otherwise you would have gotten it already wouldn't you? Hell, I'm going to have to go through all that shite too one of these...... I'm rooting for you man.

What does the Nintendo Power player's guide (or Prima or any of those) have to say about this ring? It's a shame now that I didn't get one. Does it say I have to get it from the past or present?
