"Anybody who comes into the forest will be lost. Everybody will become a Stalfos. Everybody, Stalfos."
Seems a little farfetched, but who knows?

I highly doubt that it is the Hero of Time. If it was him, Nintendo would make it slightly more apparent, as this guy looks nothing like him, nor does he wear anything remotely similar to what Link normally wears.
The only thing that might suggest otherwise is that the dude is left-handed, and he said something about choosing the path of the Hero--but that's a highly ambiguous statement. I'm too lazy to see if someone said this, so meh. He CAN'T be wearing what he wore in OOT, because Link from Ordon is wearing it. That's not just a green tunic, they're.. well.. the "Heroes Clothes." He likely became high level knight or something, which would explain what he is wearing.

Can somebody say what all other 6 skills do apart from Finishin' attack? Shield Bash, Great Spin, Helm Splitter, Jump Strike, Backslash, and Mortal Strike. =P Also, as for saying Link became a Stalfos.. I really think he is just dead. He came back because there was another great evil, and wanted to help the new Link. "Yes... That is what I believe."

Oh, the shield bash basically whacks things with your shield, the great spin is a really strong spin attack, the helm splitter is like the jumping counter in Wind Waker, the jump strike is a charged jump attack, backslash is the same as the rolling counter in Wind Waker, and the Mortal Strike is an unsheathing attack, that does a ton of damage.

There's also Gustav to consider. No, I'm not saying I believe it's him, but he isn't wearing the traditional garb (he originated the green tunic), and he seems awful defensive of the blookdline. Just an idea.
I don't mind the skills trainer talking though. We're imagine what Link is saying (a really cool idea for role-playing if you as me) because we "are" that character. It would be pointless having to fill in the blanks for a character that we are playing as.

I love this theory!
It obviously has to be somebody in that bloodline, and he's a wolf, too, only some kind of.. Shiny, gold super-wolf. Yes, I definitely think so.

Yeah, I agree with your point. But if the ST is true, then the HoT couldn't be the legendary hero, as no one would know him in the CT (except for the Terminians). But Link was in possession of the ToC at the end of OoT, so if the Hero's Shade isn't the HoT, he has to be either a descendant of him or a predecessor. Sorry for the abbreviations, I was lazy.

Abbreviations are excused...I'm going to sit quite comfortably with believing that the Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time, continuing to pass on his skills to his descendants. Doesn't make a lot of sense for me to have the Hero's Shade as Gustav as we see Gustav's ghost in TMC, don't we? ...It's been a while since I played.

I like theories, but they have to have *some* appeal. I'm perfectly okay with believing that the "Hero's Shade" is the undead form of the Hero of Time (though I may find it a bit spooky, but what the hey )

Ok.. Time to clear things up. First: Some said Link is a midget. True: They cut off some of his leg to make it look better when playing. Myamoto or Anouma said it themselves. I think it was in the Iwata Asks on Wii.com. Then: If the Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time he must have gotten from Termina somehow. The Triforce is passed down from generation to generation just as Tetra get's her triforce from her mother. And since he is a wolf, he too must go down from the same bloodline. So, the Hero Shade can be one of two characters. One: The Hero of Time and two: a descent of the Hero of Time. That's because Link is a descent of the Hero of Time and Hero's Shade is a wolf too.
