I mostly play older games like Age of Empires II because my computer sucks. Does anyone recommend any older games?

Starcraft.  Seriously, that game is like AoE on crack and steroids, plus the added bonus more aliens and explosions.  If you like RTSs, you really ought to look into it.  Diablo II is another old-yet-awesome game, and is a good bet if you don't mind hack 'n slash RPGs.

Also, Doom, but I think that one goes without saying.

Speaking of Starcraft: anyone know if that old ZGH thing should be considered dead and gone now?  'Cause that'd really be a shame.

I installed my brother's copy of Combat Simulator 3, it's an alright game. I didn't really pay attention, and my joystiq wasn't calibrated properly, so I got shot down in the first ten minutes.

I've downloaded Lock On: Modern Air Combat, and I might give that a shot tomorrow if there's a snow day.

Well, there's Diablo II. That's a pretty good game, if you like hack-and-slash dungeon crawlers. It's not as good of an online game as something like World of Warcraft, but I like it! It was released 5 or so years ago, so it'd probably run on your computer, but I'd check the system requirements first!

There's also Command and Conquer. That's a real-time strategy game, kind of like WarCraft or StarCraft, but with modern tanks and soldiers and helicopters and the like. I like that type of game a lot. I'm sure you could get some of the older ones of those for not a whole ton of money.

The Elder Scrolls series; Morrowind and Oblivion. Though I haven't gotten my paws on Oblivion for ages, because my brother took our only disc with him to Europe. Bastard.

The only storebought game I play (non freeware) is Nox.

as for freeware games,

G-type (Gradius meets R-type)
Zelda Classic (sadly less than 75% of the people on this board have never heard of it)
and my remake of Salamander (boring after awhile, really.)

Beneath A Steel Sky. And it's freeware, all you need is ScummVM and you're all set up to play.

One of the games I always find myself coming back to is Worms.  And when I say Worms I mean Worms Armageddon or Worms World Party.  Ultimate Wormage!!!  It's great to play with friends, too.

PS: I'm a schizofrenic worm.  I am both a Dark Side and a Light Side worm veteran.  People fear me greatly.  (Actually they usually just throw a big fat banana bomb in my direction so there is no 'me' left to fear )

I only had The Sims and The Sims 2 for PC with expansion packs. I think those games are awesome! Not only there are many architectural tools to build houses, but it's also fun to see the Sim's behaviour! I also like sometimes to experiment and destroy a Sim's life and see if he/she can go back on his/her feet or if he/she's going to fail and have a tragic end.

I can't wait till the Sims Stories comes out... Cause I don't have a very powerful computer.

I just picked up my first PC game yesterday, and that was World of Warcraft. Like all typical @$$holes, I had knocked the game for years, saying it was gay/for nerds/etc. I played it, and liked it so much I went back to the store and bought the Burning Crusade as well.

WoW gets boring real quick. You have to love to level if you want to play that game.
