Hi everyone, I usually go by MtI, and have a think for making signatures and such. I'm also a member on ZU (though, not to active), TFW, and staff on a small Zelda forum. And, I'll admit, the main reason I joined was because the cute smilies...eh-he-he. Not, really, but I hope to have a good time here...

What is this forum but an extension of the world in which we live? We come to socialize, argue, be accepted, and, hopefully, accept others. People come, people vanish, and the entity whose verve is protected only by HTML code continues to be loaded onto new personal computers. But how much more can there be in this virtual community? Is it truly worthy of its namesake? Can it really be called a community? What can we get from the real world that we cannot get here? A visual size-up of the person with whom you converse can be considered valuable, but that can affect the conversation in an unpredictable way. Tone of voice may be another aspect that's more crucial than we give it credit for, but it can be made up for with the semantics. No, it's safe to say that we're not interacting with each other at all. You could say, and many do, that these forums are a hideout from reality, a shelter from all five senses.
But there is a sixth sense built into us humans. The ability to understand another human, the way we can keep up a perfectly normal conversation without sensory stimulus from the converser. It is amazing to me, how strong friendships can be, how cruel, harsh and real virtual rejection can seem, and how we can live and interact as if we were standing in front of each other.
To forums, doing what humanity has employed technology to do for all of eternity: allowing us to do the impossible. By joining a forum, you open an bottomless bag of opportunities, for better or for worse.
Welcome, Midna the Imp, to this glorious place we call "The Hylia," and good luck.
