I've always loved to compete. It's something every human (who doesn't have a psychosocial problem) enjoys. I propose that there be official contests (art, writing, etc.) with set dates, judges, and prizes (chiefly, bragging rights). Does anyone else think that they might be interested in participating, or am I the one with the psychosocial problem?

Come to think of it, I've been wondering for a while now if we could suggest something to the staff. Maybe a storywriting contest, or a big wifi tournament?

Sounds like a great idea, I've tried a few in the past, specifically for art and writing but they went over like a lead balloon. If you guys actually are active in it, then I think it'd go over really well and the staff will be willing to help in any way it can.

I would love something like this. I've been in a couple of competitions, both arty and not so arty, for forums before and enjoyed them immensely. If handled right, this could be great.

music contest? or would that count as art?
how about a fanfic, drawing/painting/graphic design, wi-fi, and music contests?
i mean like music as in creating your own remixes for the specific instrument you have, like a rock version of the LoZ theme on guitar.

Not everyone could record that, and not everyone has a guitar... at the moment. So I guess that'd prove to be a too exclusive contest for a lot of us.

Dude... even I don't have a wi-fi connection, and I likely won't til the end of this month. But have you ever heard of hotspots? Also, we're all Nintendo fans here, which makes you a tad wrong on that.
On the subject of writing, once again, we're all Nintendo fans, which means we're quite literate, unlike a certain other gamer camp...

If you can't take part in one type of competition, you should be able to take part in another, unless you are a piss poor excuse for a human being with no redeeming features or noteable talents.

Could also include speedrunnin' and collect-a-tons. And, apart from any photoshopathons, there should also be some genuine photo shooting contests. Quijo's nature pics come to mind. I have little photoshop skills, but I do like to take pics, so hey. And yes, something with music. I'm sure we'll hear plenty of suggestions about that. |
