Does anybody know if Tingle RPG is coming to Europe or the U.S? Has Nintendo announced anything officially one way or the other? I'm debating if I should just buy the Japanese version now or wait out an European or American release.
Thanks, cent208

There was talk of it being released in Europe back in March, and even the Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK reviewed it with a seemingly confirmed date for that month, but alas it didn't make it and it's been all quiet since.
I think a US release has been up in the air ever since the game was announced.

Yeah there was definately talk about it but no official announcement either way. Even Nintendo Power had a poll about whether to release it in the U.S. I'm going to wait to see if there are any announcements at E3.

Actually, I just looked over the main site for anything and... Well, I could cry.Edit: I've been given the okay to state that Eiji Aonuma revealed that Nintendo has no plans to release Tingle RPG outside of the Japan, and that no official English version exists. Any update on Tingle RPG will be made later this year, more than likely at E3 2007. Well, I guess it's not all bad as there is some hope at E3. But ONM freaking lied again. Bastards...

That's one of the saddest news I have heard today (but there's something worse than this one). I was really hoping to have Tingle RPG be brought outside. I'm not going to import it, since I wanted to enjoy the game where I can read what is going on.

I hear ya there. I can cope with a US to the UK import, but a JP copy just seems pointless. Just gotta keep everything crossed for E3... Screw the new Wii Zelda, Tingle RPG for the US and EU, please Mr Aonuma.

Do I sense a petition coming on? Even though I probably wouldn't buy it, it would still be nice for it to be available here.

Do I sense a petition coming on? Certainly won't be coming from me. The Internet is a ghastly place to run a petition. And on the subject of Tingle, I could imagine it turning into Hell pretty quick. Even though I probably wouldn't buy it, it would still be nice for it to be available here.
Hmmm... You "probably wouldn't buy it" yet still think it would be nice to have it available... Just for the benefit of others? I think you're just in denial.

Why? Surely not because there's a huge backlash of people cherishing feelings of hatred for the elusive green rupee-horny would-be-fairy? Honestly though, I still think quite a good number of people would get it, even in Europe. They must be convinced it wouldn't be... good business to even bother to translate it into English... For shame, Aonuma & Nintendo. For shame.

I find that "Please do this" petitions work a lot better than "You suck! We won't buy your product if you do this!" petitions.

Yeah... But this is about Tingle. Not an easy character to love. And for every person that wants Tingle RPG, I can smell some vicious bastard who doesn't and will pollute any such petition that shows up on the Interwebs.

I knew it would never be released in America but I thought it had a likely chance in being released in Europe.

Just thinking about the origins of the Europe release, I'd only seen this story and ONM suggest the March release. Maybe we did just get our hopes up... Or maybe I should get off my arse and write to ONM to explain themselves... I mean, they're official. They should get this stuff right.

It is now confirmed to be coming out in Europe.
From a new European press release:
"Tingle, known from his appearances in the Legend of Zelda series, gets his own game with Freshly Picked - Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland. This is a whacky and fun RPG where you must guide Tingle through the quest’s many surprises whilst collecting as much cash, known as Rupees, as you can."
Apparently out in Q3 2007.

I'm glad it's coming to Europe, but now that it's coming, it better be coming to the US...

Well at least it would come out in an English version. But like Hisak said, it better come here! Depending on how much it costs to import, I could always import it, I guess.

I'd take a guess that EU to US imports ain't going to be friendly on the wallet. We Brits have a nasty habit of getting shafted when it comes to paying for our video games. It's the main reason I am importing more often.
Pokémon Diamond for £20 import. Retailing for a tenner more when it's released next month.
