I have been reading more and more about the timeline and the one that makes the most sence to me is a split timeline. That once OoT had ended there were two timeline running. One was link as an adult and one with link as a child. Can someone tell me other timelines as I have not seen much about them?

*Gives a long sigh and shake smy head, rubbing my eye brows.* This will take some time... where have you looked exactly? there are timeline theorists all over this place... *stares at them*... just ready to inform you of either how smart... or idiotic you are, depending on their outlook on the series. regardless, you can look around, theres plenty of timeline threads and mnany a person you can speak to about it. Good luck

There's endless timelines, but most of them commonly start with The Minish Cap (because of a capless link) and then it gets hectic.

I'll offer up a couple of my personal favourites...

The Standard Split:

TMC > OoT > MM > TP > FS > ALttP > LA > Oracles > FSA > LoZ > AoL
                  > OoT+7 > TWW > PH

Because very few people believe that any games following the Great Sea Saga could be set in Hyrule.

The Ganon Line:
TMC > OoT > MM > TP > FS > ALttP > LA > FSA > Oracles
                  > OoT+7 > TWW > PH > LoZ > AoL

Follows a pattern of: Ganondorf (OoT)> Ganondorf Sealed (OoT+7 and TP's Arbiters' Grounds scene) > Ganondorf Awakened (TWW and TP) > Ganon (ALttP and LoZ) > Ganon Resurrection (Oracles and AoL)

The Single Timeline:
Oh, no, wait, that one was killed off by Aonuma a while back. *stares down Super Ganny with a "don't even try" look*

There are different timelines all over the Zelda community, based on all sorts of evidence. Some exclude the Four Swords Saga, claiming the games belong in a timeline all of their own, others are based souly on the words of the developers (which make for quite interesting reading). The best answer is to carry on looking around, because there is quite a bit of variety. But 99 times out of 100, you'll find them to be split now, and that's the most important thing.

From what I have learned, OoT does have a split ending. When you think about it, it is correct.

EA, Linearism is not dead, my child. There's evidence in TWW, such as TLOTF.

I reminded myself, seasons and ages backs up the split timeline theroy because of how they start out the exact same way, so they have to be in different universes.

Despite the fact that the Oracle games don't take place in different universes, given that they share a storyline.

1- Quit with the "my child" crap. You sound like a freaky-ass preacher... Oh, wait...
2- The Legend of the Fairy is an Easter Egg. Nothing more, nothing less.

It explains how Tingle is in TWW.

No one needs to explain how Tingle is in TWW.

Oh dear... Is that really all you've got? From what I recall it hardly explains jack. It's got some very minor references to the Hero of Time (that's the Easter Egg part- something for OoT/MM players to recognise, not single timeliners to go nuts for) and the story of an island where people celebrate Tingle's 35th birthday with green shirts and red pants... An island we never come across.

If you want a true explanation of why Tingle is in TWW, and for that matter MM, TMC, the Oracles and FSA, then my money is on the real answer being in Tingle RPG, not some piddly Easter Egg which most of the Community could not give two hoots about and all serious (but not too serious) timeliners removed from the debate long ago.

I'm afraid I must disagree. If you want the true story behind the ubiquitous nature and seeming immortality of Tingle, then you must look no further than The Other Legend!

So how does Hyrule unflood after TWW-PH?  It's possible Link and Tetra found a new kingdom...but is it likely that any of the current games take place after the flood?

Also, TMC backstory implies a very early placement of TMC, at least as early as OoT itself.  I'd say the origin of ALL MONSTERS in Hyrule is pretty important, not to mention the origin of alll te hearts, rupees and other junk you find all over the place.  OoT does imply that the HoT is the first of a long line of heroes, but there's also some very obscure references to previous heroes in that game.  Basically we have two versions of why Link wears green clothes/green hats.   There's also the fact that both games are origin games for the main villians.  So...I say the legend of the Picori Blade and the chest of monsters is the most important of the facts when it comes to desciding what comes first.  The "fierce wars" and "unification wars" seem to be just too vague to be of much help in the timeline.  Other threads show that there's lots of confusion as to what those wars were anyway, and TP doesn't make things any better!

Talking about the timeline is fun but it's very sad to see people actually fighting over it. Please note that i'm not talking about this thread but the zelda community as a whole.

I mean can you picture polititians fighting and killing people over say oil? Oh...wait...they do

It's not often I'll agree with someone like Fairy penguin, but yes. This is long overdue. If you can provide enough solid proof (and Easter Eggs ≠ proof) that the single timeline still has a pulse, then get on with it.

I need a good laugh if nothing else.

Depending on how you interpret the ending of OoT the Song of Storms gives some strong evidence for a linear timeline that includes the events of both Adult and Child timelines.

But you'll have to ignore that the creators have said without a doubt that the timeline is split.
