I voted for new villain.

I say make Link the villain. That would be an interesting twist on things. He gets corrupt, and a new hero has to take him down.

That would be something.

It sounds good but it will level be pulled off without looking tacky and crap.
The new storyline haves to be clever and well worked out not a two sentence plot twist.

I wouldn't want Link to be a villain, he will have even less dialogue than before.

Well, abviously they would put a bigger spin on it than me. And if anything...Link would have more dialogue than ever before. Like...actual speaking lines.

New villain, especially if the next game is a Twilight Princess sequel. I was never much of a Vaati fan, and I don't think Majora would be quite the same if it was in another game, so the only course I want right now is a new villain.

Well, I think we can rule out EVER seeing a TP sequel, because Nintendo seems very unhappy with it's Japanese sales. (completely ignoring world sales...>_>; )

Oh, they'll make one. They've made a sequel to every Zelda game.( LOZ and AOL, LTTP and LA, OOT and MM, TWW and PH, etc.)

Except the Capcom games. But I'd still be very surprised if there wasn't a TP sequel, even with the unpopularity of TP in Japan. After all, they got Tingle RPG, so we should get a TP sequel.

TMC had FS/FSA, the Oracles had each other. That works for me really.

Don't you dare compare the wonder of Tingle to that horror-fest that was TP.

How about combining All the Ganondorfs into one Ganondorf.....
Ocarina of time Ganondorf was "epic" for Zelda. Atleast you missed 3 hearts when he hit you.
Windwaker Ganondorf great background development and great text
TP Ganondorf - his hair rofl.

I voted new villain. How should he be? Well:

  • First, he knows Link well, as a person. He has a friend relationship with Link in the beggining, but gets evil for some sort of reason.
  • He is a growing character. In the begginning he isn't overpowerful and all mighty, but he grows over time.
  • You face him a few couple of times, and the game tricks you that 'this is the end!' when it really isn't. Like Agahnim, you faught him twise in Alttp, but he was kind of the same boss twise. In stead, the second time you fight this one, he has some new tricks that you must beat.
  • Reeeally evil. He causes destruction in most places. Sometimes he doesn't kill for power or might, he just kills for fun, and even threatens the one's closest to him.
For example: "Watch it! Just beacause you are my little brother doesn't mean I'll hesitate before I kill you!"
  • The guy doesn't sit on a chair waiting for the hero to arrive and save the day. He'll be busy being evil, like Vaati or Majora's Mask was.
  • He has a backstory. A good one.
  • He is terrifying. As Be_yourself once said: someone that you hate and you fear to confront...and the whole game you know your going to have to fight him from the start...not these weak attempts at mystery, someone who threatens Hyrule/whereever you are, and isn't just going to go away...
  • You can see this person fight another good guy, at least once. The outcome would be more impressing if the evil guy defeated the good guy.
  • Really difficult and so in the end, almost unbeatable. (Yeah, I like it difficult!)
  • It doesn't have to be a 'him'. It can be a 'her' too.
  • He tries to corrupt people, like Zant did to Midna. He wants people on his side. And some good people goes to him. He even kills some of your friends.

Nice list, Ez!

Obviously I picked 'entirely new villain' as well.

Though I'd love to see Vaati in 3-D, I'm putting my money on new villain.

... For starters, I'd like to see how <insert name of new villain in PH> will turn out...

There needs to be a new villain. Badly.

Ganondorf has been used too many times, and with always the same purpose. To get the triforce and take over the world and yadidadida. It's getting old.

Majora wasn't really a person...it was just a haunted mask worn by the unfortunate Skull Kid. As much as I enjoyed it and thought it was a creative idea, we don't need a Majora's Mask 2.

Vaati belongs to the Four Swords series, I don't really think he'd be very fitting in a 3D Zelda game.

They need to do like they did with Majora's Mask, come up with a villain that is creative and unexpected, but will still fit with the Zelda format.

Bellum is the enemy for Phantom Hourglass, hope he does good. He's like a soul sucking plant thing. I want a villian that wants a true challenge, like younger Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho, except not taking as long to kill(4 episodes of the fight), or as boring with powers or appearance.

Vaati. I've always wanted a french guy in a 3D Zelda game.

Ganondorf...he just gets old
Majora wouldn't fit too much

Maybe Zant again as a secondary villan..but like Phantom Ganon :D

I voted for a new villain. They've done enough re-hashing old enemies already...it's time they do something different for a change.

I voted for a new villain altogether.  I like Ezlo's thoughts on the relationship between Link and a prospective new villain.  On the other hand, I thought Zant had incredible potential to be the best bad guy in the series until:

*TP Bashing - Hide your eyes friends of TP*

1.  He took his mask off in the twilight realm and looked like one of those freaking clowns at Lake Hylia; thus ceasing to be scary, just annoying.

2.  He turned out to be this hyper-active 7 year old who started banging his head on the floor and throwing a fit.  He was crazy, but not in the scary-villainish way, rather in the he-needs-his-ADD-medication-quick way.  Once again, he ceased to be the chilling and intimidating villain he seemed to be and became just plain annoying!

3.  He was controlled by a backseated Ganon who, in all actuality, was a weaker fight than Zant.  Nonsensical really.

*TP friends can look now*

With the way things are going with Nintendo, I'm sure the next villain will be the unexpected, all-powerful, rupee-crazed Tingle.

If WW and TP Ganon were combined, you would get the ultimate Ganon.

I concur! Actually, I'd like to see every Ganon/Ganondorf combined. Now THAT would be the hardest final battle in Zelda EVER!!!

This situation at a glance:

Ganons:

-LOZ Ganon: He'd be invisible for part of the fight
-ALTTP Ganon: He'd do massive damage in a very short amount of time, and he'd have those bats and
that trident for the first part of the fight
-OOT Ganon: It'd be epic and it would have the same scenery (and music), and he'd also have his two
titan blades for the second part of the fight (you'd fight him kind of like you do in this one)

Ganondorfs:

-OOT Ganondorf: He'd be able to do earthquake punches and he'd do 3 hearts of damage per hit
-WW Ganondorf: He'd be very fast and would attack often (and he'd get stabbed in the head at the end)
-TP Ganondorf: He'd look cool, and it would have the epicness and scenery (and music)

So all this together would make a final battle with Ganondorf where he'd be very fast, do 3 hearts of damage per hit, attack often, look like he did in TP, be able to do earthquake punches, and you would fight him in the same type of epic scenery and with the same epic music as TP had. Oh yeah, and I'd hope they take out the whole chancing thing, because I kind of find that to be a cheap way of fighting him).

Then, he'd transform into Ganon and knock the Master Sword out of your hand, and he'd be able to turn invisible at will, he'd damage you severely even if you just touch him, he'd be able to summon those bats, he'd have the trident for the first half of the fight, the titan blades for the second part of the fight, and if you tried to fight him cheaply by rolling between his legs, he'd whip you away with his tail. On top of all this, it would have the same music and scenery from OOT.

I really hope they decide to do this sometime. 8)

You forgot FSA. (He'd be able to kill Zelda--netting you an instant game-over.)

There's also Ganon from the Oracles, but that fight wasn't very interesting. The only unique thing he did was to change the room blue, which reversed your controls.

Oh yeah....sorry about leavin' those out. I just have never fought Ganon on either of the Oracles, and I've never even played FSA. But adding these 2 into the recipe for the ultimate Ganon would make the fight even harder.
