It's more so the fact it shows anyone on in the past half our. It seems more fitting, and more helpful, to show those on in the last 15 minutes. The last 30 can be deceptive as to who really is on at all.

I personally like it how it is now, I could spend half an hour on one page reading a single topic.

It's not about how long your on. Say I log off now, to you it would still say I am on 29 minutes from now, even though I am not. I just prefer a more accuracte depiction of who is actually on.

I thought your name dissapeared from the list if you manually log off.

I think he means it only shows you logged off after 29 minutes.

If you close out of the window, it will show that you're still logged in. However, if you push the "Logout" button, then you log out and your name dissapears from the "members online" list.

I can relate, though.  It can be quite annoying not knowing if someone just slacked off but will return shortly/eventually, or is REALLY gone and not to be back for some hours...

But I suppose this can't be helped, so w/e.

You could always prompt people to hit the actual LOG OUT button - how hard is that?

Or just not use the 'always stay online' function...

How can it possibly matter who's on now and who was on 20 minutes ago? It's not AIM. They'll see your messages/posts later.

Honda's men are no longer Street Fighters. They see this as a Mortal Kombat, and they have the Killer Instinct. If you do not help your friends, this may be their Final Fight. . . Clayfighter.

A simple solution would be just to assume that anyone who hasn't been active in over 15 minutes isn't on the site. Why put effort into changing something that a simple mental note could take care of.

Maybe we should change everybody's way of logging off instead of changing how long they're online for.  I'm game.
