Everyone has at least heard (if not adopted) the "Many Link's" theory. What about the "Many Hyrule's" theory? I've thought of this on my own, but I want to know if I'm late to the punch and if so where this thought stands.

Please be considerate, this is my first Thread Post on the Hylia!

Don't worry, man, we're usually considerate on here.  As for what you're talking about, I do believe in two different Hyrules. The confirmed timeline theory (by Nintendo) is one that splits at the end of Ocarina of Time (and if a member with the username "Super Ganny" tries to tell you otherwise, just ignore him, he doesn't know what he's talking about). This would, in essence, create 2 different Hyrules (one for each timeline). One ends up prospering (yet is still under constant attack by Ganon and other evils), while one is flooded over. I got this idea of 2 different Hyrules from this video here:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RXN1BF65WjI

Even though the timeline in that video is a bit fishy (TP seems to fit better on the other side of the timeline, and I'm not sure about this positions of the Oracle games), the idea seems pretty good that two different Hyrules exist (one for each timeline).

Yeah as far as we know there are two Hyrule's in different timelines.

However you could say that the dark world (Which is the sacred realm turned into a dark mock up of Hyrule from Ganon's dreams)

And Termina(a world that started out the same as Hyrule did but evolved into a different directon?)
are two "Alternate Hyrule's" as well

But I'd say two makes more sense

Thats not really what i meen

I meen that their could be TWO Hyrules in ONE timeline

Like, Hyrule gets flooded over, so the next hyrule is different
you remember how Zelda said they would find a new hyrule in WW right? what if they found it?

Ah... You may want to take a look at this thread where the debate about a possible New Hyrule has been running rampant for several months, particularly between two forum members who have very different views on the subject.

Personally, I think there should be no New Hyrule, as adventures on The Great Sea (or surrounding seas as PH suggested) are a nice alternative to "the real" Hyrule.

While I thought WW's ending was sad because of what happened to Hyrule and the King (as I've stated before), I actually agree somewhat with what you said, EA.

On the side with OOT (child), TP, FS, ALTTP, etc., Hyrule is alive and thriving, so having no new Hyrule on the other side of the timeline would add a bit more variety.

I like to think that 'New Hyrule' is the landmass from the original NES Zelda games.... because except for certain landmarks it is wildly different from the Hyrule seen in the other games.

Death Mountain Valley and the Lost Woods might simply be names given to landmarks in this new land in remembrance of old Hyrule.

Of course, this would also mean that LOZ and AOL are in the Adult timeline...

Except that won't ever happen. The whole world Hyrule is in got flooded and there are just islands left. Good luck finding a continent. And geography will almost never work in debates.

that and it gives us a nice excuse for a compleatly different map to see in the future...

seems like a waste of geography to me. But whatever. Some Hyrules do get recycled though. FSA, Alttp, and THF all use the same Hyrule, for example. AoL to a degree also goes with them. Just a very zoomed-out view of that world. I'll tell you that the world from Ocarina of Time essentially became Atlantis: it's at the bottom of the sea. Maybe some Zoras made a nice nest out of it or something.

i still think an island hyrule would make more sence... it would account for the oceans in LoZ & AoL... thinking...

hum... well, the world is really big, right? the whole world couldn't have been flooded over... and even if it was, the water would eventually evaporate...

It would evaporate, yes, but eventually, it would be a so high consentration of water in the air that clouds would be created and eventually, it would rain. Water don't dissappear.

Hm . . .

Nope. There's just one Hyrule. My opinion is that at the end of TWW Link and Tetra sail off to discover the islands that make up the flooded version of the landscape we find in AoL (Maze Island, anyone?)
