It's coming on October 20th here in the US, and you know I have it reserved. I would recommend that anyone with the slightest interest in it get off their respective asses and drive down to their local Gamestop to reserve it as well--the Wii version will likely be the hottest version, and therefore will probably be hard-as-shit to find on shelves for several months.

May I just say that I'm looking forward to this game as much as either Mario Galaxy or Smash Bros Brawl? First off, it's supposed to have in the range of 70 songs, with most of them being the actual song masters as opposed to in-studio covers.

Second--unlike Guitar Hero II--this game features a variety of songs that people have actually heard of, from bands that people have actually heard of, including The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Scorpions, Kiss, Slayer, The Killers, Beastie Boys, Weezer, Black Sabbath, Tenacious D, and yes... even METALLICA. *throws the horns* And that's just some of the bands that they've officially announced, or have yet to.

Lastly, the Wii version includes some bonus features. It'll be cheaper than the PS3 and 360 versions because the guitar controller piggybacks on the Wii's bluetooth and motion sensitivity. Also, the Wii remote will allow for an exclusive rumble feature, and when you fuck up a note the "twang" or "squawk" noise will come out of the Wiimote's speaker instead of the TV, should you be so inclined.

That along with a bunch of new gameplay modes and features will probably make this game the best investment you can make this fall with your gaming dollar. Anyone else excited?

Trying to play Dragonforce is going to be sick.  8)

Ok, but it is $100, with the only advantage over the Wii version being that it can run in 1080i and has some slightly prettied-up graphics... but that's cool--that's how you roll.

I don't mean to rumor-monger or anything so take this next bit extremely lightly, as I've seen nothing to confirm it. A friend of mine was talking with a Gamestop employee, who said that there are talks going on about including guitar versions of some classic Nintendo tunes to play on III. So unless my friend is highly schizophrenic, or that Gamestop employee was sniffing too much glue in the parking lot, that'd be a major boon for the Wii version.

Given that this means he won't have to by any extra guitar thingies to go with the game, it'll probably be worth the extra cost.  Assuming that the old ones will be compatible.  Just sayin'.

Personally, I don't own a 360, Wii, or PS2 at the moment, so I'll probably use GH3 as my excuse to blow some cash on a Wii.  I'll end up with the game eventually, at any rate.  I mean, I'm already ridiculously hooked on the previous versions of the game, and now we're getting a brand new one that has DragonForce , Metallica, Kaiser Chiefs, Tenacious D, and Muse...how can I resist?

Also, Wikipedia tells me they're releasing the game for PC and Mac as well, and I guess that counts for something.

Dragonforce on Guitar Hero.  Holy shit, man...if you're that good at guitar hero, why not just learn how to play the real guitar and stop wasting your time? Lol.

If you're familiar with the song "One," then...good for you, 'cause that's what's going to be on there.

Yeah, but who wants to be the guy saying "yeah, I picked up the guitar 'cause I was really good at this one video game"?  That being said, I'm looking forward to eventually (maybe) kicking that songs ass.  'Cause I guess the fact that I still suck pretty bad at the guitar justifies the fact that I've played too much Guitar Hero for my own good?  I don't know how exactly that works out...

Only for those who bothered to mod their PS2.  And once you get that far, that's actually a whole slew of Dragonforce songs you can play...including "Through the Fire and Flames."  And of course, basically any other song anyone has had the mind to create the notes for.  Hooray, custom content.

This game is gonna be great.  Personally happy that they have Metallica in there, and one of their greatest songs instead of something like Enter Sandman.  I would have been sad.

Now only if they can get Led Zeppelin.

Enter Sandman is probably Metallica's most overrated song, EVER. If they had picked that song over one of their truly masterful ones, I would have flipped shit.

I would love to get Zeppelin on there, too, but don't count on it. I've heard that they're actually pretty big assholes when it comes to lending out their music.

Even though the lack of Downloadable Content is dissapointing, I'll still be getting the Wii version, since it lacks action right now.

Really? What I heard is that the downloadable content won't be immediately available, but will show up eventually.

Hmm, yes. That's true. But it's not really certain if it will have downloadable content eventually.

Getting back at that, Guitar Hero II actually had loads of famous bands.

The Police, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Buckethead, Jane's Addiction, Wolfmother, Black Sabbath, Lynerd Skynerd, Van Halen, Guns 'N Roses, Kiss, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Reverend Norton Heat and Suicidal Tendencies.

It's more that the songs they picked aren't all that famous.

Yes, I'm not counting on Zep to get in because yeah they barely ever give rights to their music away.  I can still hope though.

That was more of a joke than anything, but it was based on that fact that there was at least one no-name band/song for every famous band/song. GH3, on the other hand, features a load of recognizable songs and bands.

I agree on songs, but not on bands. GHII had 'amazing' old bands. GHIII has 'amazing' newer bands.

Anyway, I can't wait to play Co-op Encore: Bloc Party - Hellicopter.

Well I got a chance to play the game a few days back before my 360 broke down.

Even Flow by Pearl Jam and The Metal by Tenacious D are my two favorite songs on the game as of now. I only got to play about six of them.

Pretty balanced out I must say and The Devil Went Down to Georgia is the 'final' song but Through the Fire and Flames is the true final song and apparently according to IGN is impossible to beat on Expert.

It isnt out yet.

I recived a demo in the mail.

But, a friend of mine got his grimy hands on it early.

His only thing to say about the final encore of Through the Fire andFlames: "Its a fucking bitch to beat on hard."

And he's amazing at the game.
