instead of the spear thing, perhaps Deku sticks could just be given the ability to lever rocks and other such obstacles as well as their already inherent abilities...also bombs could be able to have their fuse snipped so that you could use them in more strategic ways(shorter fuse, less time till it explodes...)

Death Mask.
A new transformation that lets you play as the Grim Reaper, complete with a scythe. You have lots of attacks with this form, and it can float over gaps, but it can't fly. It's special power is to touch an enemy and steal it's soul, giving you 1 heart back. You can store up the souls to give you a massive shockwave that can destroy all weapons and armor enemies are carrying, and kills those nearest you with one massive swing of the scythe. It gets stronger for every soul you've stolen, up to a max of 8. But you also lose 1 heart per soul you've stolen when you use this attack.

You can also save stolen souls and return them to their bodies for new toys and other things.
One more thing is that since you are Death, you emit an aura of cold, extinguishing all fire, and you can even fire shards of ice at enemies, and depending where you hit them, you can make them unable to move, or make it so they can't move their arms.

You can also scare people when you're in this form, and they will run no matter who they are for fear of you taking their soul and killing them.

Hard to get, it should be worth it.

Plus, it would fit in Link's pocket, unlike that giant oil lantern. Seriously, where did he hide all the things he found along the way in TP? Madness.

It was like that in all the other games, too. Sure, TP had the Spinner and the monstrous Ball and Chain, but the rest of them had some outrageous stuff, too (OOT's Biggoron's Sword, MM's Powder Keg, WW's Skull Hammer, ALTTP's Super Bomb, etc.).

But yeah, using Deku Sticks was a major pain. The lantern improved upon this SLIGHTLY, but a cigarette lighter (with unlimited fuel) would be great.

According to the cartoon he puts it into a magic bag that shrinks it. A lighter is a good idea though.

Dagger- For intense, close range combat. Ideal for fighting another warrior.

Two handed Sword- Ideal for use against someone like Ganondorf, if Link can master holding it with one hand.

2 Katanas (one in each hand of course)- Now, obviously, Japanese culture should not be anywhere near the imaginary world of Hyrule. I was thinking something along the lines of something similar to katanas, something lightweight and swift. They could be used against warriors with incredible speed. You can even implant them into the ground to make a small explosion from the ground near you.

Throwing knives- This and the next one revolves around the concept of 'what if Link had to go all Solid Snake on us and make sneaky kills?' Throwing knives are the perfect alternative for a bow and arrow, one that you use in close-range combat.

Blowdarts- Same sort of 'assassination' concept here. They could also be used as tranquilizers, and you would have to hit target switches with them to unlock stuff, such as a door.
