I know that I gave up using the LOTF as proof for my religion, but now I'm having second thoughts. I don't think the big N would put something as big as that in the game for no reason. Does anyone here with a Japanese version of TWW know if it's in there? If so, let us know. It may help my cause.

My very creation. If thou choose to believe in the Single Timeline,[ or Linear Timeline as I called it there, so noone gets confused] thou mustest follow this book like law.

Um... Legend of the Fairy? What on Earth (not Hyrule) are we talking about here?

If you get the Tingletuner, and use it to complete a minigame in the Tower of the Gods, you get a short story that tells of Tingle selling maps to the HOT, which happenned in MM.

Maybe because in a Split, MM takes place in the Child line, while TWW is in the Adult one? That means it never happenned in the Adult line, and shouldn't be mentioned in it.

I'm pretty sure that Link running around the Great Sea with a magical GBA is an easter egg, and not to be taken canonically. Isn't that carved in stone somewhere?

Well, why would they put it in the game then?

Because they wanted to provide you with some solid, canonical evidence for your saced way of life, of course.

So...anything else similarly related to Linearism vs. Splitism you wish to discuss while we wait for more debaters?

The tingtuner is similar to how they originally were going to sue the n64 mario paint program to make masks in the OoT ura Zelda. It's an easter egg that was intended to make use chuckle some. it's...like the msuic in the hyrule castle sounding simmilar to that of the castle in ALTTP or the hints of the kokiri music in the lost woods, little things to make those who play the games smile.

Really, the timline is realistically split because they said it was, and it makes more since that way, Nintendo isnt about creating grandeos, complex timlines... they used the split because it was simply easier to make a new game utilizing it without having to worry about loads of backstory, and, even then, TP's OoT elements are even less than WW, which, should be tkaing place MUCH later.

TZM, it also talks about an island (Tingle Tower) where people dress up as Tingle. Explain this.

What do you meen? tat it spoke of an elemnt in the game it was based in and related it to a backstory element from another game? that happens.

On another note, they could just as easily made WW without any time split in mind, figuring it would continue on one, linear path, and wrote this in, just like everything else in WW, to make the OoT/MM vets smile. Then, when they came to make TP, they went 'wow, how can we connect OoT to WW and make somthing interesting... we cant...lets just take the idea some have been cooking up already and use a split timnline so were not liable for the WW connections!' etc.

You could be right, in that theory, but since they have already decided a split timline, I would say 'linearism' should not work really, unless you beleive that Nintendo didnt really think it all out, which they rarely do, when making the games.

So whgat i'm saying is, when WW was made, the easter egg was only that, an easter egg, somthing else that pointed back to ooT/mm, just like alot of the game, and really didnt think to three/four eyars later when they'd release TP and say it was split, it's that simple.

What i'm saying is it proves your case, yes, but only on the basis that nintendo really didnt think ahead when making it, and kinda messed up when eventually deciding on the split. So, it is all valid and makes since, in that specifc context.

For reference:
It is said that long ago, a boy garbed in green known as the Hero of Time
saved this land. However, on a certain island, there is also a story of the
fairy who saved that hero...

It is said that the Hero of Time met the fairy in the midst of his
travels. The fairy appeared before the Hero, who had found himself lost
in darkness. With a mystic power, it would float in midair, dancing above
his head like a burst balloon.

After the fairy handed the lost Hero a map, it flew off as quickly as it
had appeared. Better able to foresee places of danger than the Hero, the
fairy marked them on a map. The Legend goes on to say the quest of the
Hero of Time was saved by this plump figure...

Fairies live for thousands of years...but this odd fairy was a bit different.
This mystical fairy was born near a lake, and when he met the Hero, he was but
35. Beyond that, there is little known about the fairy...

The Little-Known Legend of the Fairy's 35th Birthday

On one island, they celebrate one's 35th birthday with a green coat
and red pants. They do this in the hope of becoming like the legendary
fairy, Tingle!

It very explicitly links Majora's Mask to TWW.

It's something that was put in the game that was meant to be funny, but ended up not being funny at all. That's all there is to it.

Ditto. Has anyone beaten PH? Does it go further into the LOTF?
