Because it got Nintendo printed on it... It's a great game, and after playing it more, I see that many of my points, such as the vs mode, wheel turning and battle... Turns out most of the things were in "rules", which I just thought were a explanation of the different modes.

I had soo much fun playing MKW online all today. I've got somewhere around 7700 points in the racing points. I played with Wario (as usual) with the standard kart but then I decided to try the Wario Bike with him and I'm even better with Wario on the bike. :O gasp! I unlocked a few characters, all acceptable, one VERY acceptable. Not looking forward to unlocking Daisy though >.> She needs to leave. I love pulling off stunts too, but I find that a lot of the half-pipes are placed so that they aren't beneficial to use. Maple Treeway, Koopa Cape, Coconut Mall, N64 Bowser's Castle, N64 Jungle Parkway, N64 Mario Raceway, all totally awesome courses. Actually, all of the new courses are amaaaazing. They're a huge step above the evil blandness of DD's courses.

Great game but I have 2 suggestions. Give us an Item switch menu, if you want the blue shell you can choose it, but I do think it should be taken out of the prix or changed to an item that attacks everyone like a multi shell attack so it doesn't screw you over as bad. The pow isn't too bad cause I can dodge it sometimes. And also give the option to do battle without teams, i am fine with teams being there but it kind of sux sometimes. Besides that the game is awesome, Good job nintendo!

And the thunder cloud. Has nobody mentioned the thunder cloud?
That thing is practically useless if you're in third place and stuck ten seconds or so away from both second and fourth place.
That said, it is a really good item when you have a few people playing hot potato with it.

There's nothing better than passing that cloud onto someone who's been an ass towards you online

I got the game a couple days before release. It's fun but looking back I think Double Dash was my favorite. However Bikes = awesome. Wifi= even more awesome. Hmm I'll get my friend code this afternoon or sometime tommorow and post it.

Exactly the same questions I have after playing this for 2 weeks. Still haven't tried the online gaming though due to lack of internet at home for the time being. Hopefully should get that hooked up once I move in a few months' time though. Still trying to decide which controller is the best to use.

Still trying to decide which controller is the best to use. I've ultimately found the Wii Wheel to be the better option for Karts, while the Wiimote alone works for bikes. I don't know if it's a psychological thing, but trying to work a bike with a wheel is like trying to use an ice pack to make toast. I tried the Mote/Chuk and GC controllers, but just found them to be really messed up. Something about the configurations was just not comfortable. The GC especially with the bizarre decision to move from the analog stick to the D-Pad to perform a trick. Surely there's an easier combination somewhere? I might go back to the Mote/Chuk when I pick up the game again, because I have heard there's much smoother control eventually; it just takes practice. But the majority of my practice was spent getting converted to the Wheel, which is obviously what Nintendo would want from everyone... And yes, Blue Shells need a fricking "off" option. Actually, more control over all weapon settings would be good... Statistics: Item Hits Recieved: 704 And that's gone up by at least another hundred since I posted those stats.

Slightly silly question, but how do I hold items behind my kart/bike so I can pick up another item? I remember in MK64, items like single shells, single bananas, and the fake item box were held by holding the Z button. But I haven't found the button yet for MK Wii. A glance through the manual didn't help either...

Thanks to the D-Pad (on the Wiimote config anyway), items can be fired forwards or backwards and dragging is done by holding a side button. At least that's how I've done it. Never actually tried letting go of the D-Pad while dragging... Force of habit I guess. I still do lots of twisting when taking corners a la "snaking" corners of old...

Yes, the forward and backward firing of items is fun. I didn't realize I was doing it until my friend asked why I was firing items ahead of me when I was in the lead... Not sure I like the different kart and bike selections either - I'd rather pick a character, then choose the kart or bike option and the vehicle is already selected.

I find the Wii wheel a novel idea, but I just can't use it when I'm actually trying to win. I find that when I tilt the wheel up to do a trick, I also turn to the left without meaning to and end up falling in pits, off the main road, etc. which is extremely frustrating. The Wiimote/nunchuk is waaaaay better, and I have no complaints with it. It's too bad, I thought the Wii wheel was such a great idea. Another minor criticism, I don't like any of the karts except for the standard karts. The standard karts look nice and control way better, while the specialized karts don't so much.

I don't like any of the karts except for the standard karts. I usually pick the standard kart and bike - the differences in weight, acceleration, etc don't seem to do that much for me. Still driving automatic though, but I should probably try the manual and see what that's like.

On the GCN controller, you just hold down L. The GC especially with the bizarre decision to move from the analog stick to the D-Pad to perform a trick. Surely there's an easier combination somewhere?
I don't find it to be that bizarre. It's very easy to pull off. Another minor criticism, I don't like any of the karts except for the standard karts. The standard karts look nice and control way better, while the specialized karts don't so much.
The Offroader pwns all karts.

Honda's men are no longer Street Fighters. They see this as a Mortal Kombat, and they have the Killer Instinct. If you do not help your friends, this may be their Final Fight. . . Clayfighter.

I might go back to the Mote/Chuk when I pick up the game again, because I have heard there's much smoother control eventually; it just takes practice. Went back to the game today and skeptically picked up the Wiimote and Nunchuk. Picked Wario and his bike for a 150 CC Vs race to get me started and... Bloody seamless control. Played like a dream and felt as comfortable as the Mote/Chuk feel with every other game – casually holding each other side of me while I lay in bed and occasionally flicking the Wiimote. Although I'm still seeing a lot of people on WFC are using the Wheel (pretty much everyone), it's totally not worth it now. I had a quick attempt with it and just the Wiimote again and it felt awful. My overall performance has improved greatly actually. I can even get around Wario's Mines without falling off the track now.
