And I realized..Some of these movies are the most idiotic ideas I've ever heard.

It isn't enough that we've seen countless movies where Will Ferrell plays the idiotic moron in a movie to get cheap laughs. He's actually a very smart person. And It saddens me to see him in crap like "Semi-pro". But thats just the start.

I heard recently about a movie called "Be kind rewind" Starring Jack black. Now, I'm a personal fan of Jack. Having seen most of his movies and loving the band "Tenacious D". But when I go to look for it in theaters around where I live. I get nothing. Much like "Across the universe" Which ended up being a very good movie as well.

The point I'm trying to make is that the geniuses over there at the film industry are scraping at the bottom of the barrel for what little ideas they have left.

Last year, I personally enjoyed only one movie. "Grindhouse". It was a good...maybe three hours long or so. But it was great! There were zombies, guns, a girl with a GUN for a leg, and Kurt Russel killing people with his car. Not many things get more awesome than that. What made me furious though was the fact people were unwilling to see it. Because "It was long". Says the people who go to see pieces of crap like the lord of the rings movies. (I just didn't enjoy the rings movies. Sorry fan boys and girls. but three movies worth of walking just doesn't do it for me)

Please, tell me what you think about the movie industry. I'd love to hear all the feedback. I take your opinions very seriously.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

I'd say that art as a whole hasn't really been a big producer in the last two or so decades. Anything that people usually associate with art like painting hasn't been popular for at least over fifty years, maybe hundreds if you talk about sculpting.

Literature is definitely down the drain. The only books people read these days are crap (Harry Potter, The Da Vinci Code, the newer Stephen King books) and have no literary value whatsoever. You could argue that there haven't been any good books because art is moving to newer mediums.

I'd say that you were wrong. Video games are starting to consider that they might be taken seriously as art, but only about 2 developers might actually want to go in that direction. Not to mention that any games that are going in that direction are failing at doing so. Portal was a tech demo, BioShock was nothing different, and the indie game Passage that everyone seems to be fawning over fails at both being a game and delivering any message by itself.

As for movies, I'd say that they are doing the best out of the lot. We'll probably be watching No Country for Old Men and There will be Blood in the future. Any crap that you see now will be forgotten like the crap in the past. Although I'd say that we are long overdue for a 2001/Casablanca caliber movie.

I love how you say that Grindhouse was a good movie yet think people are stupid because they'd rather go to LOTR. Or even whine about movies for that matter.

LOTR has gotten several Oscars if you didn't know. What has Grindhouse gotten? Just something you should put in perspective. Grindhouse sucked as a whole quality-movie wise. Sure, it was fun to watch but the movie sucked for the most part.

2007 was a year with many great, enjoyable movies. There were so many that I don't even want to bother listing them all.

It's really not the industry that's lacking. It's your taste in movies.
