Hi people, this is my first post on the forums and I hope you all like it, and please do comment on things that can be changed.

I've made the Master Sword in 3D and I've used http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f238/Hero_of_Fire17/GCN_ZELDATWILIGHT_CHAR01.jpg as a reference image for the looks of the sword.

So here it is

Wow. That is really well done. I mean really well done. I've done some computer modeling myself, but I've never come close to that level of complexity. Like G-Han said, it looks real! Very well done.

Thanks a lot for the feedback people!

Link: "Whats it made of?" It's made in a program named 3d studio max 8, and It's made out of all the regular shapes, like a box and a cylinder

G-Han: "This is rendered? Wow, it looks like the real thing. Good job!" Yupp, it's rendered allright Thanks mate

Wii: "VERY COOL! if i may suggest the blade needs to be a little longer and the handle needs to be wrapped." I will lengthen the blade and the blade was wrapped 1 hour after I posted this thread, so it's all done

And thanks to all for the positive replies, I like that

I have plans of making the shield (The hylian shield ofcourse) and a little scene for it too, and even Link some day

I will post an updated version of the sword, and maybe even an unfinished version of the shield in this week. So I'll talk to you people some other day, and don't forget to come with comments that may improve my work

Hi, update on the sword. The base color of the sword is changed, the handle is wrapped, and the length of the blade has been stretched

Feel free to comment, and if you still don't like the length of the sword, feel free to draw on top of my image to give me a better idea of what you mean

Sooo, here it is people:

EDIT: Oh, and for those who wants, I've rendered another image in 1600x1200 and with high render settings and from another angle :D

First off I would like to say that this is an absolutely amazing piece of work. However, I think it still isn't really 100% accurate to how the sword looks in Twilight Princess. I think that a look at this image would be helpful in making it better. In particular I think the way you wrapped the sword isn't like in the art or the image I provided and the two parts of the handle that stick out are actually shaped somewhat like stairs.

EDIT: I think that these two images may be helpful as well as they are are much bigger and it is easier to make out the details of the sword from them: 1 2

Yeah, I see your point. But first I'd like to point out that the "the two parts of the handle that stick out are actually shaped somewhat like stairs" comment isn't giving me the full idea of what you're talking about, but I believe I kinda know what you're talking about, so I'll just change the thing you're probably talking about and I'll see if I got your point. Oh, and about the wrappings, I totally know what you're talking about there, I guess I just was a little lazy and only wanted a little placeholder for the moment, I'll probably change it today, seeing I got plenty of time now

Well the wrappings look great now but I guess you didn't understand what I meant exactly about the handle. I circled the two parts in this image so you can see exactly what I'm talking about. When I said "stairs" I basically meant the ends of the two parts of the sword that I circled.

Thanks a lot guys!

Oh, Wise Link, I see what you mean now, but if you look at my reference image http://www.thehylia.com/media/displayimage.php?album=66&pos=4 you can see that the ends there aren't as much "stairs" as on the in-game image you last posted, frankly because the game can't handle that many polies (If you know what I'm talking about) and since I'm modeling the high-poly version of the sword, I think I'll leave it like it is now.

PsychoMe: You've made the shield? nice, I hope you find it

Wow, that's very spiffy. It looks very realistic, maybe you could start making other items too like the hookshot, or maybe even characters.
