I've been wondering what this site thought about Ganon and how he keeps coming back? So do you believe there is just one or are there many?

Second'd. Or there's three, because OoT Ganon ends up on both sides of the split timeline.

Exactly what I would say...overall, I believe there to be at least 2 different Ganons--one for each timeline. I've never played FSA, so my opinion is slightly uninformed.

I count the Ganons on each side of the timeline as the same Ganon since he started out the same.

However, the Ganon in FSA is certainaly a different one.

According to Legend, Ganondorf can be sealed, but not Killed. Such as in the wind waker. The citizens of hyrule were desperate during ganon's occupation and could only turn to the gods for help, whilst doing so, bringing down hyrule with them in order to seal Ganon. The seal wears off,and is completely removed when link pulls out the master sword. Ever notice that  In any of the zelda games without ganon, there is no Master sword?(Exception for oracle games through secret codes).
The master sword is a key that seals ganon, and therefore, I believe it is the same one throughout history, just his looks vary with graphics style.

But he can be killed, such as in LoZ, ALttP, and OoX. He can be ressurected though, which was tried in AoL and succeded in OoX.

Also I have changed my count.
two ganondorf (OoT and FSA) and the "demon" Ganon from LoZ, Aol, OoX.  NoA made a mistranslation in FSA about Ganondorf being an ancient demon reborn.  The japanesse says that the trident belonged to an acient demon who was ressurected. The only other thing in the series that matches that is OoX Ganon.

Well, in that case i believe many. If the FIRST ganon was the demon/pig looking one, then it was somehow reincarnated into the gerudo. Therefore, that would be a series of Many ganons, but the same one reincarnated through each one. So, that reincarnation is spiritually one ganon, but the phsyical bodies it reincarnates through are many. I'm stuck.lol.

I believe there are 4 Ganon/dorfs. :
1)Ganondorf-OoT-TP-WW
2)Demon Ganon-LoZ
3)Neo Ganon(cool name huh?)-FSA-ALttP
4)Zombie Ganon-OoX

I believe that 3 and 4 are different because when he was reborn, he seemed to be different, so yes 4 Ganon/dorfs for me.

Technically Zombie Ganon would be demon ganon or "neo" ganon ressurected.  He acts differently because the ressurection kinda failed and he was reborn without a mind.

Depends on how you look at it.

There's the Ganon of Ocarina of Time who shows up again in The Wind Waker.

He's reborn in Four Swords Adventures, and I think this is the same Ganon as A Link to the Past.

He's resurrected in the Oracles, and I think this is where the Ganon of the NES game came from.

And of course since the timeline split, we have Ganon in Twilight Princess who is the same yet different than the one from the end of Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker.

I usually just say there's one Ganon since they all really go back to the same individual. Though you might consider it to be two since in one case, he's actually reborn and not just resurrected.

Yeah it's kinda a joke because think about it, Zombies don't have brains, and when Neo Ganon was resurected he didn't really have one. So yes technically 3 Ganons but it can be thought of as 4.

Also I like debating with you Sky. Just thought I'd let you know that.

(Quote from Matt)
Yep, it sure is! He was sealed away in FSA but broke out around the time of LttP.

Why thank you.

My count total is 3.
OoT had the orginal Ganondorf.  (oot, WW, TP)
LoZ Ganon is a demon unrelated. (loz, aol, oox)
FSA is ganondorf reincatnated that gets the trident belonging to loz ganon (FSA, AlttP, and the one referenced in LA)

While I do place these after TWW, that could work on ethier side of the timeline. With an order of:
OoT- WW or TP- loz/aol-oox-(MC?)-FS/FSA-Alltp

Sure thing aniki.

So you belive that Ancient Ganon was the one revived in OoX, yet you say that Neo Ganon is the one referenced.
Shouldn't the one referenced be the one that is going to come back? It only makes sense because Link's nightmare/inevitalbe future is Ganon's return which did happen. Hense I belive that Neo Ganon is the fought in LttP, then Link had a dream(nightmare) in LA about Neo Ganon coming back to power. Here's a theory:
Link defeating the idea of Ganon, had something to do with Zombie Ganon's weakness. Maybe that dream was more than a dream, maybe Ganon did a "Freddie Krugar" and entered Link's nightmare to try and kill him. Maybe not.

The Ganon thing in LA was one of Dethls forms. Otherwise a worm also decided to invade his dream. And thats just stupid. Worms don't think.

I think there's 2.

But I think LoZ Ganon could be OoT/TWW Ganon for me as LoZ and AoL are in my Adult Line.

So I just count Good Ol' Ganny and FSA-ALTTP Ganon (Neo Ganon    ).

After getting killed so many times he just has to die for good. In TWW he turned into a rock, in TP he got stabbed through the gut, in the Oracles he got his mind destroyed so he was a just a rampaging beast, in LoZ he got killed so that his followers had to kill Link in order to ring back Ganon, and FSA he got sealed in the Four Sword, and LttP he just got sealed in the Sacred Realm. Eventually he has to go down. I just find it more likely that thers a bunch of people with the same goals. With so amny apparent deaths it just can't be one guy.

If you really hate him, you'll vote many Ganons. And you ahve a point. Some of the best Zeldas don't Ganon at all. Links Awakening and The Minish Cap were also pretty good. Phantom Hourglass... I'm liking that less since the definitives. Bellum just wasn't that good. It was like Ganon in the fact that it wants worlddomination or some other stereotyped evil deed.
