I have no idea why people are saying there are more that one. There are more than one MAJOR ENIMIES, though. People like Vaati, Zant, Agahnim... you know the usual guys. But there is only one Ganon I thought because he has broken through the Seal to the Sacred Realm after long periods of time and has gotten to fight the Hero of Time in each version of Hyrule.

it is the same ganondorf but since he has the triforce of power he is immortal so that is why he will never die and will always come back in every century or so longer

Exactly. Except he HAS died completely at least three times.

The first time was in Wind Waker when he stupidly "extracted" each piece of Triforce, including his own, and DNH took possession of the complete Triforce and made a wish. When Link then slayed Ganon, he died completely, turning to stone. I still don't understand why he turned to stone, but it's significant. He no longer had possession of Power, so he died.

In the other timeline, at the end of ALttP, Ganon didn't have Power, so he died in that timeline finally.

Now, somehow, he is resurrected in this timeline and is alive just in time for LoZ. Perhaps the process mentioned in AoL was used?

Well Ganon the pig looks different from Ganon the dorf, so I think there are at least two

Huh? "Ganon the pig" is "Ganon the dorf's" monstrous form; they're the same person. I'm not exactly sure why he turns into swine when he's angry, but he does, apparently. OoT. TP.

If ALttP is in TP's timeline, somehow Ganondorf has gotten back into the Sacred Realm and thus transforms into swine Ganon form, which he stays in for all of ALttP and TLoZ.

I think the reason why Ganondorf seems invincible (or keeps coming back to life, etc) is because he's been in possession of the Triforce. Only after extracting Power from himself was he able to die in the WW timeline.  The other timeline is more confusing. Since Link acquires the complete Triforce in ALttP, Ganon has somehow lost his piece prior to that. Presumedly when Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm and took possession of the complete Triforce to create the Dark World, it didn't split up into the three pieces for some reason. So when Link killed him at the end of ALttP, he didn't have Power and died.

Now how he has not only come back to life but has also escaped the Sacred Realm to steal Power in TLoZ is beyond me. Maybe his minions used the resurrection technique we learn of in TAoL?

He used the Triforce of Power to transform into something he THOUGHT Link would never defeat.
By the way, Agahnim was the bad guy in Alttp.

@Alexkenny: Agahnim was A bad guy in ALttP, but Ganon was THE bad guy in ALttP.

Sage of Light? Perhaps so. Sage of Darkness? Never

You kill Aghanim in Ganons tower, then Ganon flies away and smashes into the Pyramid of Power. Then you go in and kill him.
It never says Ganon got out of the Sacred Realm in LoZ, only that he was the Prince of Darkness, so he can be his own Ganon. There was no way his minions could the use the ressurection techinque because that requires using the blood of the guy who killed Ganon in the first place.
