Back in my day, games had one button!

Not sure if its just me, I use fox fire and the add blocker.  I'm not having any trouble like that however I'm getting this strange thing happening.  I go to a board like General Board and see all the topics.. cool cool.. I go to hit page 2 to find something I posted a few months ago and...  page 2 didn't load.  It went back to page 1.  I think I'm going crazy and may have just missed clicked.  Tried again, didn't work, tried page 3 didn't work.  None of the page numbers load.  All of them link me back to the first page.

Bug in the script?  Perhaps?

This problem was also mentioned in this thread, but that was for threads as opposed to subforums. It probably wasn't noticed at the time.  The search feature doesn't allow you to view results past the first page either, but it also gives you a 404 error. Seems that the links are broken.

hmm he could always copy and paste the code to a note pad, then if it gets fubared he could just copy and paste it back to the way it was.

Thats what I did with my smf forum..  lol..  Man I had that thing screwed up bad..  I still am not sure how to fix some things.. lol.

However, if something goes wrong, it means bye--bye TH.

The thing is, is that we don't have FTP access. So if we somehow screw up the code, we don't have a back-up.

Then how will you know you are discussing something already discussed then if you can't go back to page 2?   Guess we will all have to suffer the possiblity of dead topics being revived.

I think I've figured out what's wrong: the URLs. All of the boards are still found at the old URLs (the ones that include the name of the board in it, like http://www.thehylia.com/forums/the_stock_pot_inn-b12.0/), but all of the links go to the "new" URLs. The new URLs (the ones that end with .html) all redirect to the old URLs, but they always redirect to the first page. So you either need to change the links or change the URLs.

I'm really bad at wording things like this so I hope that made sense.

Yeah, the SEO mod that makes the urls all pretty for search engines is broken and we cannot fix it without the FTP. Daniel will let us know when he has access.

Couldn't you just use the old (IE-friendly) URLs then?
