After Nintendo, Capcom are possibly my favourite game developers of all time with consistently high quality offerings across all Nintendo platforms. For the Wii already, I own three Capcom titles and while two of those are ports I have no objection to making it three out of four with this latest news from Famitsu.

This was yet another 360 title that was on the list of reasons for me to consider getting said console but now it looks set to be struck from the list. Definitely an interesting decision by Capcom, and something you only wish Nintendo had been nice enough to mention yesterday, it will be interesting to see how they pull this off (and I really hope they do).

Anyone else excited? 360 fans care to offer some feedback about the original version? PS3 owners want to express shock at it not getting ported to your new-gen console (admittedly, I am a little too)? Hopefully when the first hands-on impressions come out there won't be too many complaints about the "weaker" Wii and its graphics and processing power.

I dunno why you care to be honest...i have played it though not for more then 10 minuets and i have watched my cousin play substantial amounts of the first half 3 day section.

It didn't excite me in the least...i really couldn't give to hoots about it, you kill lots of Zombies...thats it really, admittedly it did seem to have some decent exploration style gameplay and the way you can optionally choose your activities in the three day(or is it 72 hour) cycle of the first half is quite cool...but all you really do is kill zombies...meh...

the game also had a cool zombie mood, it felt like a zombie horror film, being stuck in the supermarket...but meh...

I don't know why you would spend your money on it...all you do is kill zombies... ::)Its not like the game is bad...just...meh, its just compleatly and utterly uninteresting to me...

I don't know if this will be as good as the 360 version (probably not) but I can tell you one thing. The PS3 fanboys are probably PISSED considering they aren't getting it when a less powerful system that will likely run a watered down version is getting it.

All you do is kill zombies? Are you serious? That's like saying all you do in RE is kill zombies. Maybe if this was house of dead...

Dead Rising had a fantastic story line. Challenging bosses. A challenging time schedule that required you to complete your tasks quickly or efficiently or you never get to the bottom of the story.

Not to mention it's not like you have a gun and you kill zombies and that's it. Half the fun of the game was finding all the new ways to kill zombies.

I about died laughing when I first found the lawn mower and ran over a crowd of zombies with it.

It's also pretty fun to learn the fighting combos. Or to zombie crowd surf lol. Or just driving a car through a hoard of them.

Dead Rising is easily the best zombie game ever.

This is one of my favourite 360 games. Glad more people will be able to play it.

I can't help but think maybe Dead Rising is a test model for RE5 Wii Edition. Maybe wishful thinking, but if DR shows that new-gen titles can be successfully ported to the Wii then RE 5 looks very possible. But for now, I guess they have to focus on getting RE5 out for the existing two systems which can obviously "hack it" and DR is a nice distraction.

A very nice distraction.

Well, with the way things are going, by the time they put RE5 on the Wii, I'll own a PS3.

Hmm, more info was released about this game. They're using the same engine as with RE4, so that's good I guess.

But the Wii version of the game misses one key element: hundreds of zombies.
The Wii simply can't process that much zombies on one screen which automatically takes away the entirety of the game, which is killing hundreds of zombies at once.

Okay, so I was considering taking a look into this game until I saw this:

Quote from: Wikipedia (simbt)
Minoru Nakai, the game's producer, stated that changes will be made to the Wii version to make it more accessible to casual gamers.
How the hell...?

Nintendo's constant use of the 2 words "casual gamers" is starting to piss me off.

Screenshots.

The abundance of zombies in the 360 version looks much more interesting than the little dribble in the Wii one. Just looking at the Wii pic, it looks like you could run away from the zombies. But with the 360 shot, that's kinda impossible to do.

This game doesn't really interest me, mainly due to the abundance of zombies. RE5 would be much better but I'd rather play that on PS3 than Wii.

Those shots arn't really that accurate, or at least the Xbox one isn't, there isn't usually that many zombies...there's usually nowhere near that amount of Zombies in the Xbox 360 version.

My brother has actually borrowed the game for the 360 and it looks like an alright game...nothing fantastic...it still doesn't really interest me...

I'm starting to wonder if Capcom are overhyping this game...

Quote from: Capcom bloke
Take the car underground, day 2-3, run em down.. you’ll see several hundred rendered in scene. I can’t quote you exact numbers because I don’t know what they are. But it’s a hell of a lot.

Several hundred? You were stretching our imaginations with just the one hundred... I think this might be the first game where I'm looking really closely at reviews, because if the feedback for this game is not so good, it might just push me in the 360's direction.
