Hi all. I've decided to repurpose this thread to expand it beyond the Zelda-focused contests that it originally featured, so that it can work as an index for all successful contests held on this forum.

Members on The Hylia have a history of throwing together contests to determine the community's overall opinion on certain video games and forum members. This thread will serve as a database for these contests, with links to the threads that were associated with them. If you notice any contests that were left out, please let us know.

The Hylia Member Awards
Member Awards have been going on since before this site even existed. Voters choose which member they think exhibits a particular quality best, and the results are then revealed, sometimes with accompanying banners that winners can proudly display.

The Hylia Video Game Awards
The Hylia VGAs were started by hupla in 2007 as a way to discover the community's favorite games released in the past year. Categories typically include Best of Genre, Best of System, and Game of the Year.

Since 2007, Count von EA has run two separate competitions to highlight the best (and worst) of the Zelda franchise over its two-decade run. Below are links to the various threads in one convenient location.

The Definitive Legend of Zelda Review Thread
The Definitives (as they are commonly abbreviated to) are a head-to-head-to-head-etc contest between all of the canonical Zelda games to see which is truly the greatest. Members rank the games from best to worst and points are assigned to each rank. First place currently scoring 15 points, last place, zero.

The Tingle and Navi Awards
The Tingle and Navi Awards are the Zelda equivalent to the Oscars. Or the Emmys or Tonys if you're more into TVs or musicals. The competition comes in two parts, nominations and voting. The nomination stage is held in public for discussion while the voting stage is a secret ballot to build tension.

In 2010, any aspect of the series which has won the same award three times in a row will go into a Hall of Fame. This will mean it is excluded from nominations in the 2011 contest, paving the way for some variety in the winners.

Just looking at the stats, the most online figures don't seem to change that drastically, at least not in the last few months, the only real figure (not great mind you) that we really can use to determine the number of active posters, what does change is the number of posts, but that shouldn't matter, because all that matters is that I get a PM from people.
