There's an equal amount of judges and contestants. Should we wait for more or start.

We should wait for more, spreading the competiton, and giving people more ideas on what to make.

I am going to make the theme anything Nintendo.

There are 5 contestants. It gives each one a chance to win two awards if they don't win one.

The whole point of a contest is to win the one award. If each contestant has a chance to win one, then why bother? There's no incentive for them to do better next time.

Okay then, would you rather have me Remove 5 Categories? If its really that important I'll do it without hesitation.

If you look at last year's competition, the contestants were just listed from 1st to last. And I think that's all that needs to be done. Particularly if you're planning on holding weekly AND monthly competitions - that already gives them 5 chances of winning per month. Seriously, so many awards is just overkill. That's my opinion.

No worries. I see where your coming from. Perhaps There should be 4 weeks total, one contest per week. Giving them room to improve their faults, like you said. Thats that then. I'll Make the changes, as long as your okay with it.

I agree with chibimoon on this one. Too many awards is overkill, there should be one sole winner of each contest. It gives us better art to look because they will want to submit their good work and it will give more incintive to the artists.

Instead of having all those categories, you should really look at them as criteria that help in your judging.
Example, the drawing with the best shading, color, detail and creativity and overall form should win the thing.

Anyway, count me out as a weekly contestant. I don't really have the time to draw each week. I'd prefer a monthly thing ( makes it more easier to organise on your end too, because I'm sure we'll just ignore the deadline to a point that it gets stagnated )

My two cents.

Life has sucked lately. I barely have time to sleep, much less think of something to draw. Count me out until things look better.

The only thing I don't do is color... I just use a pencil and that's basically it.

And yeah, I don't know about doing something weekly. I'd do a monthly thing, like Witless said, though. That's pretty agreeable.

*sighs sadly* I love to draw, I really do, but a weekly challenge is too short a time with everything going on...I think that once a month would be easier to handle.

What do you all think of making it monthly instead?

*raises hand too* It'd make things a lot easier, and I think we would get more contestants and better pictures done.

...But that's just my opinion...

I don't want this to keep stagnating, so let's just put out the category for the first contest and whoever wants to enter can do so. People obviously have busy real lives so it may be better if we don't have set contestants for the entire thing and you can join up on a month-by-month basis, depending on your availability.
