Well, I don't know if this makes you feel any better, but I have tried to recompile the Zelda soundtracks on my site, LITHCast.com. By no means am I even close to done, but I heard from some of the ZREO guys that they rely on the soundtracks and I couldn't bare the thought of a project that I love being hindered by something as stupid as inability to be able to get the soundtracks they need.
By no means do I have nearly the control here that TSA did or that I would like to have. Essentially, all I have control over are the forums, the media, and the news. I love what I get to do, but of course, it's not that much control.
So what I have done is tried to host the files on my server and then post them up on
http://lithcast.com/zelda-music/. Thus far, I only have Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past, and Phantom Hourglass -- I need to start adding more, to be honest.
What I have done that is a slight step up from what we had going at TheHylia was that with each game is a link called "XML FEED." With this, you can batch download all of the tracks by simply going into your favorite podcast-capable music player (like iTunes) and hit "Subscribe to RSS/XML Feed" (In iTunes under Advanced>Subscribe to Podcast) and paste in the URL that should end in .xml from LITHCast. From there, you can choose to download all of the tracks, and once it is done, you can sync it to your iPod or other MP3 player.
Of course, the usual web-based player is also available there.
But one last thing. I know the site seems dead, and I'm sorry that it does. Like I said, I have nowhere near the level of control that I would like to have here. I consider it a great honor that I got to take the place of someone as awesome as TSA and over a site as awesome as this one. Admittedly, I am not perfect -- far from it, but comments like "Bye forever, losers" and "This place seems dead," are gross over exaggeration of the state of this site and really only seek to marginalize the work I do here and the community we have. Loach asked "Help you?" I can see his point. I don't know why I went out of my way to write all of that stuff to help you, someone who is obviously ungrateful for everything this site stands for, but I did. Show some compassion, huh?
Enjoy the soundtracks!
