Cash for Clunkers have been made possible.
Oh yeah that program where you I get to pay for people to buy cars.
Of course I saw a really good thing pertaining to the Cash for Clunkers. Why incentivize spending money now on cars after we spent all that money bailing out the companies in the first place?
So that the company can
continue to survive. We saved them from sinking, but unless people buy their cars then all that money was for nothing (Well, keeping workers jobs around for a short period of time, I suppose). A simple incentive has made a big difference.
The Cash for Clunkers program also doubles as an incentive for people to get their gas guzzling cars off the road and get them into more efficient models. So in a way, the Cash for Clunkers plan is helping us reduce our use of oil and our environmental impact. Not by much, but it's better than nothing.
