Well, E3 starts in two weeks, and the industry is trying to restore the show to its former glory. It's even going back to its former moniker (Electronic Entertainment Expo, rather than E3 Business & Media Summit), and it promises to bring many big announcements and surprises. Feel free to make predictions and declare what you want from Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, and the numerous third parties that will be showing off games at the expo.

The press conferences:
Microsoft: June 1 at 9:00 AM PST (GMT-8)
Nintendo: June 2 at 9:00 AM PST
Sony: June 2 at 11:00 AM PST

I'm definitely expecting a trailer of Pikmin 3, and more details on Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Trailers for Red Steel 2 and Sin & Punishment 2 should also be there. I'm also expecting at least one non-Zelda/Mario/Metroid from Nintendo, whether it's Star Fox, F-Zero, Kirby, or something completely new. A new console Zelda is possible, though I'm not betting on it, and there's a minuscule chance of a Galaxy or NSMB sequel. Sadly, I don't think we'll be getting another Metroid game this gen. Oh, and lots of talking about MotionPlus, DSi, and sales numbers (but not for Excitebots).

I am REALLY hoping for a new good starfox game, the way it was at lylatwars (Starfox 64 to you Americanites) though this will never happen.

I think there will definitely be another Star Fox game, but I could see them skipping this generation (like Metroid skipped the N64) and making a big deal about the revival later. Of course, this generation could end up lasting much longer than previous ones (at least for Nintendo), so it's possible that we'll see a Star Fox Wii. They definitely need to get rid of all extraneous material like the ground missions and focus completely on flying, like you said.

Also all of that lovey dovey stuff is stupid. The way they're going about it it will be furry porn by the end of the next generation. I seriously hate the way that they were taking the series

Oh, well I haven't played Command yet. But I've heard it's mostly air missions, so I may end up getting it. I still really like Star Fox 64 and the flying missions of Assault.

I understand that, but surely you can agree that they'll likely show Pikmin and Sin & Punishment trailers, right? Besides, there's no announced first-party casual titles left after Wii Sports Resort, so we're pretty much guaranteed to see something new.

I can see a trailer for S&P, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a Pikmin 3. You'll probably just get some information about New Controls Pikmin or whatever they're gonna call it.

That was already announced awhile back. Some new information about it will be most welcome though.

But they already confirmed Pikmin 3, remember? Both Miyamoto and Cammie confirmed it. We don't know anything about it, but that will probably and hopefully change. (I wouldn't mind a release date for NPC!Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime, though...)

I forgot about that. It's supposed to come out in January. So we should hear something about it at the press conference.

Hmm. I must have missed that one. Ok, so maybe we will see that.

I draw your attention to the section previewing Nintendo's E3:

Likely (70-30)

...

5)    A trailer of Zelda Wii, using motion plus, will debut at the end of the conference with a release date of “Spring 2010”.

I wait with bated breath.

WARNING: HEAVY SPECULATION AHEAD
Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think they're likely to show Zelda. It probably won't be released this year because of Spirit Tracks, and also:

- Nintendo likes revealing console Zeldas at E3.
- Nintendo likes having a teaser trailer first, and then releasing details later (we didn't know TP's story until a year after it was first announced, and we still don't know anything about Spirit Tracks), as well as having them playable at said later date.
- Console Zelda games are either Spring or Holiday releases. OoT, MM, and TP were holiday releases, TWW and ALttP (yes, you have to go back that far to get even two) were spring releases. It's possible that this could change, but it's unlikely.

Which brings me to the following possibilities for their teaser/demo/release schedules:
(click to show/hide)

Of course, all of this could be completely wrong, and they might end up announcing it at GDC next year or in a random press release. They're not acting like their normal selves lately. But I think one of these release/hype schedules is pretty likely. No matter what, it's an improvement from TP.

I am expecting nothing. It's up to Nintendo to do whatever they want. I can only feel how I feel based on what they do.

I know this is a Nintendo forum but that doesn't stop me from wanting lots of details on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, like how you fight (C'mon Kingdom Hearts system upgrade!)

Maybe Spirit Tracks, otherwise I'm hoping for Kid Icarus III (thought someone might have mentoined that by now).

This is only in the Nintendo forum so that it's higher up on the page. Higher up means more attention. At least I like to think so. Feel free to discuss whatever you like.

I don't think Kid Icarus is happening anymore. All signs point to it having been in development but dying with Factor 5. I think it could be coming eventually, but definitely not in the next two years.

Personally, I'd like to see news on the following, whether it's release dates, more info, whatever:

Uncharted 2.
Assassin's Creed 2.
METAL GEAR SOLID 5.

Yeah none of those are Nintendo. Maybe this thread should be moved to Multiplatform? xD

Everybody seems way more excited about Versus XIII than Plain Ol' XIII, you know, the actual new entry in the main series.  It makes me a little confused.

Anyway, here are my hopes (and / or far fetched dreams) for E3:

- 2D Metroid for DS?  :D
- Paper Mario 3?
- Wii Zelda?
- Something completely new that will enrich my entire life?

And any new info on Final Fantasy Plain Ol' XIII would be nice.

Well, i would like to see a new console Zelda et un noveau kid icarus!

I think both have a fairly decent, although not high chance of appearing if a few of my assumptions are correct(that are horribly informed and driven by wishful thinking, but they have got me through the first part of the year without being proved wrong! )

Zelda
-Zelda for wii has been announced and there have been a couple of little leaks about aonuma being ultra excited for quite sometime, apparantly he was silenced by Miyamoto at a conference etc.
-Phantom hourglass trailer and Majoras mask recently released on VC...
-its 2009, its about this time that a Zelda is usually released on console(every 3 years for the last two, and less in the case of MM)

What a way to hype up a new console Zelda by releasing at last, the controversial MM on VC, the last console Zelda to be released on VC(other then TWW etc.), its a considerably heavy title to release on VC so it is highly likely they would save it up to use at a crucial time, just after PH trailer when Zelda is back on the scene and just in time to keep the hype going till E3....and as i put above its really about now when a new Zelda is going to be released so to have nothing being announced is rather omnious(although to quash my own spec, rather unprecedented) I think it is likely that we could see a console Zelda trailer at E3...

As for Kid Icarus, apparently Retro has a title on the way, Kid Icarus has been rumoured for a while, and considerable media interest has been vested in it especially since his appearance in SSBB.  Retro has taken care of Metroid,an old game that they brought into the modern, 3d sphere, it was also the sister game to Kid icarus,so what better group to bring KI to 3D and the modern gaming world...

I only speculate, and a lot is governed by wishful thinking...but i think it is possible that we could see both...

-Phantom hourglass trailer
You mean Spirit Tracks, right? I don't know, I think MM was really more aligned with the extra SD card support and it being the 300th game on the service.

Like I said, Kid Icarus seems to have been canceled. We do need to see what Retro Studios has been up to for the last two years, though. I highly doubt that they've only been working on the Metroid Prime ports.

- 2D Metroid for DS?  :D
This would be awesome. But I don't think it's happening yet.

- Paper Mario 3?
Now, this I could see happening. Both TTYD and Super Paper Mario sold well, from what I remember, and Nintendo seems to like the series. It would be awesome to have both Mario & Luigi 3 and Paper Mario 3 on the way.

I also want release dates for Muramasa and A Boy and His Blob. Please?
