LLR The reason why she reacted the way she did was because she thinks of Adam a her Father ( figure ).
Its not like she doesnt have the chozo or anything. Who arent mentioned through out the ENTIRE GAME It's not a direct sequal to the Prime series. It's a whole new universe.
The chozo were made the parentel figures for samus since the FIRST metroid game, it was re established in a metroid comic witch sakamoto wrote in 2005 and in metroid Fusion AND metroidzero misson witch are games sakomoto had COMPLETE control over. Its a terrible continuity error and sloppy writing.

Parenting:/*edit* Comic which appeared in Nintendo Power She called him "Old Bird" Manga old Bird Fusion 100% completion unlock gallery. Dear ol dad. It is odd how they just left the Chozo out. So, was I wrong to assume in Fusion that Samus sort of thought of this "Adam" person as a boyfriend? Anyway, I guess Team Ninja wanted to move away from being raised by bird people and have something a bit more normal.. as if fighting giant brains behind glass while freezing face hugging vampire jellyfish isn't far enough out there.. lol jkeheh, EDIT!* I just beat the game non 100%.. Mind blown. Great big salute to who ever decided to put in the Metroid Queen.. I've been hoping since Prime 1 to see that boss back! YES! THANK YOU GAME! That fight was pretty epic! I lost count how many times those metroids killed me before I could do anything to the Queen! Great fight! Was odd I got no mention of getting power bombs but after I died twice I figured it out... what got me was that damn last fight where MB is in the back of the room... THAT WAS AS FRUSTRATING AS THE "FIND THE PIXEL" SEGMENTS OF THE GAME! I died - no kidding - 15 times trying to fight the 4 or 5 rampaging beasts in the room NOT SEEING HER AT ALL. GAH! I have to admit... This game kept me wanting more and more... making me feel like the game just isn't over yet. Between Ridley, the story, MB and all those rooms I never got to go in... while seeing the credits roll I just sat there feeling a bit like Oliver Twist... "Please sir, I want some more.." That last battle didn't quite qualify as a boss fight and left me with more questions than answers.... Regardless if the questions get answered.. after the credits rolled I found myself back at the entrance of the bottle ship....ready to explore all those areas now open to me.. Awesome.. So far... I'm happy..

And, there's 100% completion. I like this game a lot, but do I love it? That's a tricky one. This was a Big Deal in the promotion of this game and I thought Team Ninja did a pretty good job (ignoring the Chozo aside). The explanation of Adam's final mission was really impressive, even if you do feel slightly robbed when he floats off with all those indestructable Metroids.
Samus' voiceovers grew on me as I played on. They're not award-winning, but we should be grateful to Nintendo and TN for going to such effort to provide the most detailed story experience in a classic franchise release. We can only hope it becomes the norm for the Big N. (Get the feeling they were put off after the beating Sunshine's VA got. But it felt like a small step backwards when Galaxies 1 and 2 went without.)
I'll be watching the Theatre Mode later, see how it stands up as a Game-As-Movie experience. There's plenty of difficulty here. This game handed my ass to me on a plate so many times. Almost every boss had me groaning at the sight of the Game Over screen, but I jumped right back into the battle, smarter, a little sharper. It's the sort of challenge you hope for. You learn from your mistakes, you adapt. Or die again.
There's quite a bit of handholding going on (even the hidden items are marked on the map after the credits roll), but you'd kind of expect it with the expanded audience Nintendo now has. At least it isn't on the same irritating level that recent Zeldas have seen. Although it shows you you're at Point A and Point B is just over there, getting between the two (the puzzles, the enemies) is all on you. Marmite gaming if ever you saw it. For the most part, I liked the simplified controls. They got the job done with the minimum amount of fuss. Those First-Person pixel-hunting phases will remain the biggest issue for many players, though. I could probably have shaved an hour off of my finishing time, as each took about 10 minutes of furious head scratching. Nightmare! OMFG, Nightmare was in there! Easily my favourite boss of Fusion, how brilliant did he look?
Queen Metroid? Terrific. Would've liked a bit more warning I could use Power Bombs, but that would surely defeat the point. If you were Samus, in the heat of battle, with your last breaths seemingly just seconds away you don't think "Gee, I hope I have authorisation for this." Fuck that shit, and blow that mother up. Ugh. This was the low point for me. All this build up to the dreaded M.B. and she just stands there shrieking while you have to spam away with your Missiles to fight off some big old lizards. I died half a dozen times, seemingly unable to escape the bloody First Person mode and really kick some ass. And I didn't spot her the first three times I died. Was so busy with the lizards.
Somehow, I still don't know how, on my sixth resurrection, a couple of beam shots seemed to take M.B. down. That was it. Did my occasional hits on her add up with each death of my own or something? I still have no idea how I pulled it off, and that's no way to go about a boss fight. For shame, Team Ninja, you'd done so well up until then. Thank goodness for Phantoon, then. This was much more like it. Beam (charged or otherwise) shots, Super Missiles, Power Bombs, the Sensemove ALL coming into play for a stunning finale.
Rounding up all those final power-ups on the way was semi-challenging. Having everything mapped out eased the process a little, but just because you've got a little blue dot on your map doesn't guarantee they're easy to find. No idea if I'll survive the dreaded Hard Mode.

Beat it with 100% the other day. Honestly, I liked the game but it had a whole lot of wrong with it... Might fire up hard mode tonight... might. I got that feeling like I should push my self to play the game again.. Pity.. I may go through Prime 2 on hard mode instead. It was fun while it lasted though! I kept wanting MORE and I swear... I really didn't think Adam had DIED when he jumped into sector 0.. I kept expecting him to pop back up somewhere.. and I wanted to fight Ridley again too.. Ah well.. I did like the Phantoon boss fight at the end.. It was great seeing him/it again! Now I just want more... BAH! Minor gripe: So why was Phantoon there? Because of all the lost souls on the Bottle Ship? The dead crew brought him about? Is he like the space equivalent of Davy Jones? If that is the case he should have been in Prime 1 AND 3! BAH! Also, why was there volcano in a space station? And why did Samus stop using all her equipment but still had the need to find energy tanks and missile tanks? Why didn't Samus just unlock EVERYTHING in the Ridley fight? (I would have, screw authority there.. its personal) And why did I collect all 100% only to have her take the suit OFF and have to escape with NOTHING in the final 5 minutes? And how does Samus NOT have helmet hair when she takes that thing off? Does she use a special brand of.. "Samoosse"? All in fun! heeheh -'troidrancher

I'm about an hour into the game. (Yeah, I'm pretty slow.) Right now, I'm not too thrilled with the game. There's way too many long cutscenes and the controls aren't ideal, to put it lightly. Still, I could see myself enjoying the game more once the number of cutscenes is reduced and if I get used to the controls.

I think you'll enjoy it for the most part. I wasn't too thrilled at the beginning either. Too chatty with too many people. Isolation is key in 'troid IMO. After you meet the white grimlin thing with bird legs I bet you'll be digging the game. Just remember the frustrating parts of "Hunt the pixel" with out revealing spoilers, if you get stuck trying to find something in first person mode and nothing is happening remember this: Grub, celing, green goo on the dirt, door. What else am I missing here, guys?

Chest plate is the only other one I had trouble on. So just finished up fusion a few days ago and I'm suprised at how many elements that were directly copied to other M! a hidden sector of metroid breeding that gets de-attatched and destroyed, sectors of different habitats, ect.

Playing through on hard mode now. It IS hard! Yikes! A bunch of Reos killed me right off.. I wasn't expecting them to hurt that bad. heeh. Also you can skip the cut scenes. I like that because you already have all the cut scenes stored away on the title screen. About fusion tie ins? I agree! It seems they tied that in perfectly, (or copied it) I had forgotten the section of the ship in fusion had to be separated and destroyed because it was full of 'troids. I just wish in mom we could have got in there and blasted some of those un freezeable metroids. Perhaps have given us an alpha metroid for some nostalgia too. (although they get brownie points for having the Queen. lol I knew in mom I had heard "diffusion" somewhere before.. in Fusion you got the Diffusion missiles, in mom you get the diffusion beam added to the charge beam. Neat tie in. Also the 2 ships look a LOT alike. IMO anyway.
Also: "DAMN YOU WINDEX GUY!" I know at the beginning of mom I didn't like the guy because he cleaned off Samus' suit and removed the baby 'troids dna that gave her the hyper beam... but at the time I had no idea he would be the whole reason for the game.. I mean think about it! Those metroids in sector 0 CAME from the baby's dna that was on Samus' suit! And that baby was cloned and allowed to grow into a queen so that it would produce other original 'troids. So there would have been no MOM game at all if it wasn't for "Windex guy"... wait... wait.. Samus stores her suit INSIDE her body, right? So how did Windex guy clean it in the .... oh... gross.. great! Now we have another reason to hate windex guy. Not only is he a nerdly maniac hell bent on making more metroids but he is also, evidently, a pervert. lol... I'm having too much fun here.. Someone tell me to stop. *edit* Is there no item expansions at all in hard mode? Holy #$#@

I'm sort of stuck with my items. I can't seem to get the item that's in that room on Level 1 with the huge elevator in the middle.
Hints?

Might be the same one that got me. The broken elevator? Only got it AFTER the final final boss.

Okay so... I defeated that crazy monster in that room with the giant window thing. I proceeded to go into the room using the Grapple Beam. Now I'm standing in front of a room where it says 'Now Loading' but the door is green ( thus open )...
What the fuck?
EDIT: Nevermind. Seems it was just the game acting up and I ended up having to defeat the bitch again.

That missile tank drove me crazy too. I spend quite some time in that elevator shaft trying to get behind the tube. Bah!
Seriously though, is there no expansions at all in hard mode? This is gonna be hard....

*WARNING*Game ending bug found: After fighting the flying cockroach creature in Sector 3, do not go back and save. Go forward... the doors will lock and you can't get out... only way to fix is to delete your save data..

*WARNING*Game ending bug found: After fighting the flying cockroach creature in Sector 3, do not go back and save. Go forward... the doors will lock and you can't get out... only way to fix is to delete your save data.. That's quite a convenient fix...anyways, hard mode, OFFICIALLY no expansions. And frankly, it's hard as balls. You get A LOT better at dodging...

Two more hours logged, and I've finished my (first?) trip through Sector 1. I'm enjoying the game quite a bit more. The controls are starting to click, and the boss fights are a great deal of fun.
The script also doesn't seem as bad as it was in the early going, though it still has some rough patches (namely, whenever Samus decides to narrate).

Okay. I played through an enormous chunk of the game today, from right after the run-in with the Ridley-like creature to the destruction of Sector Zero. My thoughts: First of all: my least favorite part of the game so far was easily the cutscene before the Ridley battle. Samus has defeated him five times before, and yet she's so paralyzed with fear that Anthony needs to save her? Blech. Thankfully, once his boss music started up, I was more than ready for the very enjoyable battle that followed. What did I think of the rest of the bosses? Well... Groganch had my favorite introduction of all of the bosses, with its camouflage becoming useless. The battle didn't have much in the way of new concepts, but it was fun. I did like the idea of the boss popping up again later in the game, something that reminded me a lot of the first Zelda game. King Kihunter had the most annoying pixel hunt before its fight, but I liked having to cut the hive loose while fighting off the smaller enemies. The second half was pretty standard, which was a bit of a disappointment. Adolescent Ridley was short and sweet, and actually had me on edge a bit. I could have done without the rescue from an NPC, however. Goyagma was a very visually impressive and intense battle, but it was a bit too cinematic for my tastes. Pretty much all of the damage done to the boss involves quick time events. Despite how out of place it seemed within the Metroid world, I liked the Ferrocrusher. It actually involved a bit of strategy, and its attacks were harder to avoid than most bosses. Rhedogian....good god, I don't remember the last time I had this much trouble with a boss. It's incredibly fast, and the attacks were very hard to dodge. It took me several times on each encounter to defeat it. Massive thorn in my side, and it was quite satisfying to see it finally go down after the fourth battle. Vorash. First thing to note about this creature was that it gave me my first instant game over. So I was a bit more cautious from there on out. I loved the use of the Grapple Beam in this battle (even though I found myself trying to use Corruption's control scheme with it). And tell me I'm not the only one who thought of this during the fight. I've already said that I liked Ridley's battle, but I should say that I also loved the homage to this point in Brawl, as well as the way Super Missiles were used. Job well done. But as much as I enjoyed many of the bosses earlier on, Nightmare has to be my favorite boss so far. I loved the Galaxy-ness of the gravity portions leading up to the boss, and seeing it show up again in the boss fight made me really happy. Nightmare also had one of the most difficult attacks so far to dodge, with sense dodge being pretty much useless in this case. The black holes in the second half of the fight also struck me as clever, leaving the player with nothing to do except avoid attacks and wait for the black hole to dissipate. I'll give my thoughts on other parts of the game later (especially the story, which I was considerably less enthusiastic about), but I'm enjoying this game a lot more than I thought I might, and look forward to finishing it off in the next few days.

[embarrassed] I actually didn't know the names of many of these bosses... lol, I had to look them up to see what they looked like on google. Sounds like your having an awesome time! I really enjoyed the game too while I was playing (now for hard mode.... JEEZE) Ridley, I got to say hell yea to any Ridley fight. I look forward to those the most in any metroid game. The only thing I was disappointed with was her nervous breakdown. You nailed it. She has beat that guy more times than Mother Brain and she is going to have an issue with him now? I would have liked to see her just get really pissed (He killed her family and wrecked her home for crying out loud) and just go all out. Unlock all her abilities and just go nuts on Ridley. Then Ridley could have hurled fire at you and you would have had to use the Screw Attack to not take damage or something! Anything but the breakdown... really. That homage to Brawl? PRICELESS I fist pumped the screen during that scene. (That scene sort of made up for the breakdown) I guess The save from the GF guy was sort of uncalled for too now that I think of it. bah! Groganch, quite cool intro, I agree! Although I thought he looked a bit like a pokemon. lol. I was horrified at the sight of a second one a few rooms later.. I did have a hard time during the first one. heeh. Rhedogian....good god, I don't remember the last time I had this much trouble with a boss. It's incredibly fast, and the attacks were very hard to dodge. It took me several times on each encounter to defeat it. Massive thorn in my side, and it was quite satisfying to see it finally go down after the fourth battle.] I feel your pain.. GAWD that was hard. I lost track at how many game overs I got on the first fight! I kept thinking you HAD To kill it. Like it got away because I suck. lol I thought that for awhile. *raises hand* I game over'd bunches of times in there too. And I DID TRY THE CORRUPTION CONTROL SCHEME! I threw my hand out and went "WTF?" That wont work! lol. It was a very frantic feeling trying to pull that out! Fantastic! And he did frolic in the lava in a very free manner... that was a bit silly. The second form of Ridley though, it bugged me. Not only his appearance but the fact that ... ok,... he has you pinned down.. you can't retaliate, missiles bounce off his face and you can't hurt him.. You're totally at his mercy and what does he do? Instead of eating your face he decides to slap you with his tail. *Which side is it going to be? Oh hahaahah, this one? Fooled ya! Slap!* all you can do is watch his tail bob back and forth behind him while looking at his googly eyes and really long tongue.. lol. He also looked a bit pokemonish. It was hard not to laugh.. And my fav for last.. The Nightmare fight was one of the most fun boss fights I've done in years. I loved that thing! Not only seeing it again (which explained what it was from Fusion ... that thing looked so out of place before) but now! You know what it is! The fight itself was awesome! That blackhole bit was fantastic. Great way to get you to not spam missiles. Very effective. I gameovered like 3 times on that one. Sadly though, during the second fight.. I killed him on the first try... I wanted it to be harder! NOOO!!! hehe. Can't wait to hear what you think about the other bosses you've not met yet! Maybe tomorrow?

The only thing that was missing from the Nightmare fight (not that it really makes the fight worse, it just would have been cool) would have been if its face had deteriorated throughout the fight like it did in Fusion. But I guess that would have been too awesome.
If I died during the Nightmare fight, it was only once or twice. Certainly not enough for me to remember it (says something about this game's difficulty). Still a great boss though. Not sure when I'll be finishing the game, but it should be within a week.
