I dunno if I really think she is the Master Sword, people are really jumping to conclusions about all this, by the way, the only thing ruled out is that he isn't TWILIGHT PRINCESS Link.  IGN asked if it was Twilight Princess Link or something completely different.  When he said "completely different", it was an ellipsis for "completely different than Twilight Princess", so it doesn't discount this being a sequel to any one of the other games.

I'm just saying that shade of blue in his eyes and the hair color and style is a LOT closer to Hero of Time Link than any other Link.

Agreed. There isn't much to go on, so we can't make bold assumptions--but there is definitely an uncanny resemblance to OoT's Hero of Time with this Link, for all the reasons that Jord listed. But for all we know, he could be the Link from Zelda II.

I hope this new character isn't a sidekick. Link's had a sidekick for every single fucking game technically since TWW. But, the King of Red Lions was at least more of a useful guide. To be fair, Link didn't have a partner in FSA, per se. The game was easy enough without one.

Whatever happened to just the days of LoZ, AoL, Alttp, LA, OoT, and MM where you just...went off on your own adventure or got hints on to what to do next? Midna was especially offensive in this regard in Twilight Princess for giving you the entire game almost.

I agree, i think MM got the mix right where the assitant, Tatl actually gave something to the story, was not overly annoying and whose hints were helpful but subtle enough that they didn't give anything away, just stopped you from searching endlessly through the entire world when it wasn't neccisary(and would have been increadibly frustrating).

I think Assistants need to either go, or become useful in another facet, i.e perhaps used in a "scanner" type function(metroid prime), where you could use the wii mote in a scanner mode to scan enemies and find law and weaknesses, characters backgrounds and various environmental features for puzzles...

they certainly don't need so much story relevance...the story should be about link's adventures imo...thats a big part of why OoT is seen as a definitive Zelda because it is Link vs Ganondorf not Korl vs Gdorf or Midna's trip to Hyrule castle...

but as to a game about the master sword...say it got corrupted by evil? perhaps two parts one good and one bad, it could be interesting...i think it has potential...Perhaps, even though i do not want to have another game iwth G-dorf in it, perhaps he destroys the Mastersword and succeeds in taking over hyrule, thus you have to restore it and save hyrule from his clutches as opposed to the preemptive storylines(which have lacked any threat from the badguys(TWW and TP)) that the recent games have had.

And it's not like speculation is usually right. The last time we had "wild" speculation was this agreed-upon was after GDC 2005, and they weren't right there, were they?

Anyway, it's possible this may be the personification of the MS, but let's keep things open. We don't know shit yet. Just that Miyamoto said Link didn't have a sword.

We shouldn't rule it out though, because the coincidental resemblance is there, wether you like it or not.

Oh alex just to catch you up a bit man this is art released at E3 by Nintendo during round table and was leaked. Miyamoto was interviewed about the game and thee picture was brought up in the conversation.

well, yeah, i didn't even think of that, I would love to see OoT Link again but i don't know if this game will be worthy of him...i.e assistant qualms i mentioned earlier and if this game is too much like Tp i think it would jsut be unfortunate for the Hero of time.
