Today, after work, I went to GameCrazy to get my Zelda Twilight Princess that was preordered two months ago but never came.  Infact, only seven games came in and there were a bunch of people that pre-ordered them.  While I was in line, the people infront of me didn't get their game also.  Something stinks more then the rotting corpse of a Dodongo that didn't blow up.

Well they told me to complain to Nintendo about the shortage.  I was told from them that there is no drastic shortage like this of the game.  The woman took a few minutes to ask her supervisor about it.  As for waiting on the line, the zelda intro was playing and didn't even finish when the rep pricked up.  Apparently this is the first complaint she heard all day and it was 5:30 est.

So I called the main office and they said the district manager should call me sometime tomarrow about it.  The rep there sounded as if this is the first complaint about it.

Anyone else not get the game the pre-ordered?

EDIT: just noticed the little article about EB being short handed.  Getting only 7 in total sounds a bit too low for a game with a large customer demand.

The nintendo rep assured me that "the game is not a limited time or quantity version", and will be "widely obtainable".  I made sure she knew that I was talking about the Game Cube version.

I got my preorder today.  They asked if I had one and told me it came in (when I called).  So there might be a shortage in general and are only giving preorders out.  Regardless, I am HAPPY!

Well I got a call from the District Manager (at 7:30p.m.), figured might as well go all the way since I've got nothing to lose.

He gave me some factual figures on what the store got.  They got 13 titles, and 7 of the special ones (10 dollers more is all I know so far).  I of course got a special edition .  He said that Nintendo basically filled only 40% of their pre-orders nation wide.  And they put a stop to pre-orders some time after I made mine.  At the current store I'm in line with 60 other people.  Good thing is that he'll put a stratagey guide aside free of charge so it isn't too bad.

Also, Nintendo wanted to drop the GCN version completely and have it exclusive for the Wii (Think I remember reading about that a few months ago) I guess they told GameCrazy of their plans to cancel the product.  Nintendo then realized they had a lot of money to lose by doing that so released it for the 'cube.

The man spent a lot of time on the phone, I was really impressed at the quality of service that I recieved.  Well I was mad, now just gotta wait for a while longer.  Might go threw MM, been years since I played that game.

Never got this kind of service from EB... usually just blew me off.

Is there proof to back it up that nintendo never planned this?  As I recall, they didn't push the GCN version at all.  Basically it is running off momentum from the Wii version and for the zelda fans that couldn't get a Wii.  With a shortage on a game like this that pre-orderers couldn't get their hands on one, I'm able to easily belive the district manager.

The guy went out of his way as I'm not a huge shopper at the store to begin with.  Only other game I bought there was 4 swords for GC since it was the only Zelda I didn't beat yet.

There's no proof they didn't plan it, but there's proof they didn't tell the public.

Finally got the game on Friday, so far definatly the most dramatic Zelda game to date.  The drama doesn't seem to end even after the 4th dungeon.  Though being a major turning point in the story here, I'm hopeing it doesn't end up like the others and just get to be the dull ''hunt down the six temples and collect the thing hidden inside''.

Major thing I wanted to point out is that Nintendo never made a limited edition.  Only a regular Zelda game on the GCN.  Pretty disapointing, I guess just spoiled from the OoT disk that came with the WindWaker pre-order.
