I fully agree, its not like I'll cut completely out, but even in the last 2 - 3 years I've invested very little to gaming rather than gear I can use in my profession or as a major hobby on my end.
I will however invest in a 3DS soon. Inexpensive and portable.

For a lot of games I'm quite content to watch Let's Plays. Most kind of action/adventure games i'd almost rather watch than play. Things like RPG/puzzle games I have to play for myself though. Skyrim and Pokemon are good examples. Very rarely have I seen a Pokemon Let's Play that's enjoyable, and I've only ever enjoyed one Skyrim Let's Play.
