I love the post-Christmas sales, me:

- Mad World. Was: £29.99. Now: £7.98
- Boom Blox. Was: £29.99. Now: £12.98
- Punch Out. Was: £29.99. Shelf price: £19.95. Jammy bugger got it for: £7.95
- Rhythm Paradise. Was: £24.99. Now: £14.99

Not sure what happened with the Punch Out pricing. Was more than happy to pay 20 quid for it, but when I got to the till the guy said "£7.95, please," and I wasn't going to argue.

Hoping to pick up a couple more bargains tomorrow. LKS high on the shopping list. Thank the stars I've got another month's work to pay for this.

Torchlight: $4.99

Last game before that was Majesty 2: $60.

I only buy a game about once every 2-3 months now

So they're selling Psychonauts for $2.00 on Steam for the next day or so.  Heard it was a pretty bitchin' game, so I figured it would be a good time to help myself to some of that.

It's really comfortable. I've never played on the regular Classic Controller, but I haven't come across any of the complaints people had about it. I also like that it works with the Wii Menu, as I was annoyed when I realized the GameCube controller doesn't. Oh, and I'm looking forward to trying out some SNES games with it. Using an analog stick with those didn't feel right.

The regular classic controller was good for SNES games, you may as well forget the thing had analog sticks though, and it was useful for times when you might not have access to a sensor bar, other than that, it's a horrible controller.  I think the Classic Controller Pro places too much emphasis on the D-Pad, if the analog stick were where the D-Pad is, it'd be the ideal controller, and also if it had press-sensitive shoulder buttons.  As it stands, it's a good replacement for the classic controller for certain games, but if you have a Gamecube Controller, I'd stick with that.

Nah, I like where the D-Pad is. It's a lot easier to reach for an analog stick than it is to reach for a D-Pad, which is why I hated playing SNES games on the GameCube controller. Considering neither the original Classic Controller or the CC Pro are compatible with GameCube games, I don't see why you'd need analog shoulder buttons.

The problem is that the original Classic Controller is the superior SNES controller, it feels more correct, the Classic Controller Pro is supposed to be a proper 3D controller, so the analog stick is really in the wrong spot for that, it isn't horrible, it's just not great.

Also the original Classic Controller had analog buttons.

...? It's just an improved version of the Classic Controller. And considering I never owned a regular CC, and I'll mostly be using it for VC games (and Monster Hunter, but it feels plenty comfortable when I'm playing that), it works fine for me.

Were there even any games that utilized the CC's analog shoulder buttons?

I had played a few hours of Golden Sun a long time ago and really enjoyed it, so unless it somehow gets bad later on, I'm expecting that I'll like it.

Ignore Jordan. That was a great game.

Anyway, I just downloaded all of the DLC for Dragon Age: Origins that I hadn't gotten yet and picked up Dragon Age: Awakening as well. Looking forward to replaying that game again.

Honda's men are no longer Street Fighters. They see this as a Mortal Kombat, and they have the Killer Instinct. If you do not help your friends, this may be their Final Fight. . . Clayfighter.

Ignore Jordan. That was a great game.

It was a prettier version of Shining Force(not that great an RPG either) with a boring story, the only real redeeming quality other than the visuals was the awesome soundtrack by Motoi Sakuraba.

Six months after the January sales and that post, I finally bought Little King's Story. Better late than never, etc.
